Definitely wrong. LBJ just happens to be the best out of this summer's FAs. That's it nothing more nothing less.

That being said don't pretend like the Cavs have many fans---compared to NY there are a handful Cavs fans at best and Lebron doesn't strike me as a village idiot.

If he wants multiple rings guaranteed he should just go to Chicago anyways---barring major injuries:

Rose
James
Deng
Gibson
Noah

with Hinrich,Murray,Miller off the bench

is much better than what the Cavs have to offer anyways.

I agree that Chicago is way better than the Knicks . That pretty much goes without saying. That being said, I'd be willing to argue that right at this moment, the Cavs have way more fans than the Knicks do. Sure alot of them might be bandwagoners, but that doesn't change the fact.

That quote is awesome.
Knicksick, I invite you to check out the Knicks forum on this board some time. I go there all the time to get a laugh.
My observation is that Knicks fans are far more desperate to get him than Cavalier fans are of losing him. In day to day life I'm talking about sports constantly and almost never does the conversation have anything to do with the Knicks. LeBron may leave, but I think most Cavaliers are too distracted by the championship run going on to be all that concerned about it. The Knicks fans don't have the luxury of distraction so there's lots of time to twist every story to suit their intentions.

I get the debate here, but to me Knicksick doesnt strike me as an unrealistic troll as are so many other Knick fans that do come here. I for one dont do the general board or other teams boards regularly due to the anti Cleveland/Lebron bias. With so many people in NY, there are bound to be many more unreasonable posters on their board and around these boards in general, so its actually nice to hear from you Knicksick, however it will be really fun reading those "10%" posts when Lebron does re-sign with the Cavs. Hell, we probably will have a thread dedicated to your guys thread about it.

I know no one knows me or has followed my posts on the Knick board but I was personally never sold on the idea of James joining the Knicks. Depending on our teams' state and my mood my hopes sometimes went from 1% to 50% at best so to me it won't be a big surprise if he stays with the Cavaliers at all. The Knicks did a very very poor job of selling themselves to LBJ that much is for sure. I also believe that our coach is more of an obstacle to a guy like LBJ rather than a draw.

The bold part is 100% true and it is something that really irks me with other boards---all this talk about "idiot NY fans and their dumb trolls etc. etc.". Just given the amount of Knick fans it is absolutely obvious that you'll see a lot more Knick trolls than other team's trolls. If you look at realgm there are about 20 times as many topics and posts on the Knick board compared to the Cavs board so there should be 20 Knick trolls for every Cav troll.

Do i think lebron will leave cleveland as a knick fan? no i think he would be stupid to leave, dont get me wrong lebron being on the knicks would be the greatest thing to happen in NY since babe ruth but if lebron is all about winning why dosent he just say i want to stay in cleveland and i dont want to go anywhere else? ive never seen a superstar that gave such minor info that he actually wants to remain with his former team if he wants to resign just say it. does he really think if he says he wants to resign that the cavs GM wont make moves to improve the team anymore?

Not trolling but I'm curious as to you guys' reasoning as to why he hasn't signed his extension with the Cavs....
The organization has done a wonderful job of surrounding him with capable vets, All-Stars and high-end role-players.
With all that said, I'm trying to get a feel for how real Cav fans feel about his non-commital stance on his hometown team.

The only people that think he's been non committal are fans of NY. He's always said that he wants to bring a championship to NE Ohio more than anything else. If you believed something else it was primarily wishful thinking. Fact is though, there is more money and more years available if he becomes a free agent than there is now. Right now we could only offer 3 yrs while during the summer it could be as much as 6.

No, he's the best free agent in the entire salary cap era.

As a Bulls fan would I love Lebron to sign with us hell yeah he's one of the top two players in the world but let's get real LeBron is not leaving. The reason the Knicks posters keep kissing Bron's a** because the Knicks have no future without Bron, I think they are going to be in for a big letdown. So come July when he resigns for three years with the Cav's Bron will be the most hated player in NYC since MJ mark my word.

I think most Knick fans are actually fairly reasonable. The odds are heavily in Cleveland's favor. I would personally be VERY surprised if LeBron leaves Cleveland. Very surprised.

Dow, as a basketball fan it's getting real old when Lebron wears a Yankee ball cap oh he's coming to the Knicks some of your fanbase needs to chill. I said in the past Lebron loves attention the NY media are feeding the Knicks posters with all type of crap.

Most of that stuff is coming from KnicksGod though. He makes posts that bring in the delusional guys like moths to a light.

Also, you act like this is the only (or best) board for Cavs fans. Most don't care about this board as it frequently gets infested by Orl/LA/NY fanboys.

That's it and I've yet to walk away with the impression that 90% of the Knick fan base (at any point) believed that LBJ was really coming to the Knicks. I think there were like 10% who were pretty sure about it happening and 30% thought there was no chance of him leaving Cleveland. Then there are 60% who were in between. Of ocurse as a fan of a **** team you try to keep hope because what else are you going to look forward to?Utah making the pick with your lottery pick?Getting the 28th victory of the season?Hoping Duhon doesn't go 1-7 next game?Hope that Lee blocks a shot within the next 10 games?Knick fans REALLY had nothing to talk about since january (other than the FA class). There were dozens of threads about Chandler/Gallo/Douglas and D'Antoni. These are the only guys worth talking about on the Knicks but you after a while you know their current strengths and weaknesses and most threads only become repetition. As for the FA class you at least believe that the current season figures into their decision making and therefore you feel like it is worth discussing:
Take Bosh--there was a point this season where the Raptors looked like they were headed for a 50 win season and Bosh was out of the FA market---now it looks like they'd need a major playoff run in order to be able to keep him.

Also take this into account: Now IMO most fans will admit that the odds of James leaving are pretty pretty low BUT did you feel the exact same way prior to the Jamison trade?Imagine the Cavs never made a deadline trade---would Lebron still feel great about the Cavs organization and his supporting cast? You ask what my point is?That in december, when the Knicks were close to .500 and the Cavs were struggling --maybe the odds weren't as bad as today?

My personal opinion and that of a lot of Knick fans was always this: The Knicks need to have two good seasons in order to make themselves attractive for Lebron. It was totally unrealistic to believe the Knicks could win 40 games withtheir current talent but that's what we hoped in order to get LBJ to seriously consider us. Hindsight is always 20/20 but considering the last two years is any serious Cav fan gonna tell me that if the Knicks made the playoffs twice as a low seed winning around 40 games and having 25mill. in cap room they'd still not have been worried about LBJ leaving AT ALL?

Part of being a fan is being biased and sometimes a homer and everything but I don't think Knick fans are any more biased than other fans---the number of knick fans just make it more likely to have a few trolls in between as you are more likely to notice "negative" posts than other posts.

Jazz fans for example (and I don't even blame them at all) were seriously thinking they had a very good shot at the first overall pick. Heck even midway through the season when the Knicks had like the 10th worst record there were still numerous Jazz fans hoping and predicting the pick to be "definitely" a top 5 pick and still possibly a top 3 pick when it was obvious to most non Jazz fans that those odds were almost zero.

It's Purple. And Orange. Typically denotes a robin. To those with mental problems it can signify a multi billion dollar corporation dictating the new team (that they chose) of the greatest basketball player on earth.

Honestly I just think most Knick fans appreciate good basketball and will cheer LeBron and buy his shoes regardless if he plays in Cle or NY.

Isn't that KnicksGod some kind of mod for RealGM. It wouldn't surprise me if he gets paid a salary to rile up the Knicks board to get them to post. I think he tried the same thing over here when he posted a topic about LeBron.

I'm in the camp that LeBron will sign another long term contract in Cleveland but will of course have a player option after 3 years. With the impending new CBA it only makes sense to lock in the biggest contract but still leave an escape clause. Honestly as long as the Cavs win at LEAST one ring the next 3-4 years I wouldn't have a problem if LeBron leaves in 3 years. That would be 10 years for the Cavs to own his rights. If they can't rack up a few championships in that period it's the organization's fault.

That NJ/Brooklyn/Russian billionaire/JayZ connection is looking strong for the Nets. 3 years is a long time down the road but wouldn't be surprised at all if that's where LeBron ultimately closes out his career. Luckily for us there is no way he leaves to play in Newark or wherever the hell they're playing the next few seasons. If John Wall somehow ends up with the Nets, which wouldn't surprise me, then look out in a few years.
