He's not more talented than his stats show. He's a wanna be Rafer Alston that can't shoot.

Very true, but he doesn't want to. For all his life his points have come in the paint deceiving bigs who are so scared of what he can do making plays for others that they don't know how to defend him from taking a lay up. He's just an average play maker in the NBA and an awful jumpshooter, he's always been awful at that and I doubt he ever improves.

At this point he doesn't have the drive to get a better shot.

Some guys just can't improve their jumpshot no matter how hard they work.

Any player can miss 12 open jumpshots in practice. That's usually a mechanics issue that gets worked out.

And you're right- some guys just can't learn to shoot, and it's silly to blame them. I'm pretty sure Ryan Bowen tried really, really hard. It just wasn't happening. Shooting is a talent, it's not just a scalar decided by how much one works at it.

Aside from developing the correct form, lots and lots of repetition does not guarantee continuous improvement. There's nothing wrong with Royal Ivey's form. He's just a terrifyingly awful shooter.

Telfair has a similar problem. Just not a gifted shooter.

I know it seems like telfair was full of himself and thinking just raw talent would make him a star in the NBA, but I am really hoping Lebron's and the Cavaliers' work ethics would rub off on Bassy. Bassy has no choice but to improve and adjust while with the Cavaliers. The Cavs might be his last chance to savage his career.

The problem is his style of play just doesn't work in the NBA. He can't get inside and now all of his first tier High School talents are merely average at the NBA level.

I don't think he's gonna figure it out, it's probably too late.

You probaly right, but I hope for his sake you are wrong and he figures out his NBA career is in jeapody. He needs to overall his whole game over the summer and and prove to coach brown that he belongs on the team.
