Hey guys,
I thought this was interesting. A Cleveland blog has put together a list of a bunch of quotes that various NBA people (mostly players and former players) have said about LeBron James' 2010 decision.
Supposedly, it's going to be updated with new quotes (and newly discovered old ones) leading up to July 1st (or whenever LeBron finally puts this to bed), so I thought I'd post it here. It's actually pretty amazing how many people think LeBron would be crazy to leave.

Re: LeBron 2010 Quotes
honestly i don't see why alot of people get mad about free agency this summer. it was LeBron hinting towards leaving. when the best player in basketball say's he's thinking about what's going to happen in the summer people are gonna talk. even though i think he was just doing it to scare the GM to make moves like the Jamison/Shaq trade. but i do think he's gonna stay. and i'm a Magic fan and this team scare's the hell out of me so you would think i'd say he's leaving just to piss you off or something.mjtnbafan wrote:Hey guys,

Re: LeBron 2010 Quotes
I'm more interested in quotes from LeBron himself.
People don't know. There are as many are spouting what they want to happen as there are what they think will happen.
I really only see Bosh moving and that will be a sign & trade. I haven't heard a reason LeBron will leave yet that got me worrying. They are either inconsequential or irrational.

Re: LeBron 2010 Quotes
No need to get melodramatic. The post wasn't meant to be provocative.
It's like "tidho" said, I thought this was an interesting link because I hadn't seen all the "celebrity" quotes on LBJ's situation collected in one place before. It's interesting to see what everyone has to say, and although it is on a Cleveland blog they included the ones who said he should leave.
Obviously, there aren't as many of that sort, which I mentioned in my first post. Either that's because most NBA people believe he'll stay, which would seem like a different ratio than what most people in the media believe, or because this blog was ignoring some NY / etc. quotes.
It says it's taking submissions, so if anyone has any fun quotes from NBA players, former players, or whatever, post them here or send them along. Maybe they'll get added. I looked around for some yesterday, but they seem to have all the notable ones.
But bottom line, this thread has no intention of starting yet another debate among fans, I'm sure there are other places for that on RealGM. These quotes have all been out there for a while, and if they are actually strong enough to rile people up, they should've back when they came out.
This was supposed to just be a fun look at all the quotes together. If sharing these sorts of things isn't really what this forum is about, you can take it down, it's cool I understand. I'm new, and learning the way. (Also, I'm sorry that I posted such an unoriginal post as a rookie. I didn't realize.)
Personally, while I think quotes from NBA people are intriguing, I think all the media speculation has run its course. I am a Cleveland fan, but Cleveland or New York, Miami or Chicago, New Jersey or the Clippers (I can't help but smile as I say that), I think LeBron already has a good idea of what he's going to do. If he stays, I'll celebrate. And if he leaves, I'm cool with that. The Cleveland organization has done everything I could ask for (and, frankly, that LeBron could ask for), if he ends up moving on, it's just because he wants to be somewhere else, and nothing can stop that, not a media debate or fans' pleas. He's worked hard to get to this point, and he deserves the right to choose the team he wants to play for, the place that he feels would be best for his career. I'll always be a LeBron fan, no matter what uniform he's wearing. I wasn't old enough to enjoy most of Michael Jordan's career, so for me, this is my time to enjoy watching greatness.

I don't take anything away from his quote aside from the fact that he continues to purposely stir the pot for all parties involved.
However i'll say that he should have stuck to his policy and basically said "i'm not commenting on anything pertaining to free agency or this summer until the playoffs and this particular season are over"

This...and this should piss off Cleveland fans as well, regardless of the fact that he is a basketball god. He acts like a drama-queen when it comes to this issue, and it's ridiculous. College would have done him some good in a few departments...

"I love, I mean, Akron, Ohio to the death," James said. "No matter where life may heads me, throughout my whole life, ummm, I’m never gone from here."
There's your clue. I have a feeling New York will win the Championship next year.

Just the same old responses.. This will go nowhere. Can we just talk about this when the playoffs are over?

Re: LeBron 2010 Quotes
As always, LeBron said nothing and it brings out the trolls to try to make something out of it. Did he say he was saying or that he was leaving? No, so how does this even generate a blip for anyone other than the most diehard of trolls?
I just wonder what kind of idiot asks free agent questions of a player while he's still in the playoffs?

LeBron is a genius for all of this.
