Agree with everything you said, aside from the part about Lebron quitting in the playoffs TWO years in a row. Boston series, yeah, he said, f it, I'm out of here in a month or so. But against Orlando--and I say this as a die-hard Magic fan and Orlando native--he played out of his mind against us (and was aided significantly by the officiating). He didn't quit, he and his supporting cast didn't match up with us well at all.

That said, he's still a horrendous douchebag and, depending on how the rest of the Magic offseason shakes out, the reason why I'll not be watching ESPN ever again or the NBA any time soon. I'll be spending my League Pass money on the NFL this year, more likely than not.

I guess, lastly, I hated your team when he was on it, but I wish you all only success (against every team besides the Magic) from now on. Your fans are cool; your players, mainly Lebron, not so much.[/quote]

In the last game against you guys, when Dwight committed his 11th or 12th foul and didnt get called (sorry, but he did get away with so many) the look on Lebron's face and the way he played the last couple of minutes, he knew it was over and just kind of played it out. I was more pissed at the time about the officiating, but it was a precurser to this past year against Boston.
If you can find a tape of game six watch the last 5 minutes or so, and you will be able to see the way he just looks at one of the refs after another non-call, and the look on his face is pretty obvious. Although our guys were playing against your team, we were also trying to compensate for our head coach and his incompetance. Not trying to take anything away from the Magic, they won and that is in the past, but I just thought I would clarify why I stated what I did.

Like Hot Rod Williams once said "I'm a Heat". Lebron's a Heat. Time to move on.

I think Gilbert should move on. Energy would be better spent on, say, utilizing the TPE obtained to find a star player who, while not comparable to LeBron, would team up with Jamison & co. to allow the team to stay competitive enough for the playoffs.

The Raptors are already making some of those moves.

That being said, you have to remember that NBA player contracts contracts technically expire on July 1. Before then, Wade was still a Heat employee, Bosh is still a Raptor employee, and James is still a Cavs employee; or in other words, representatives of their old clubs. Any "recruiting" by Wade, if proved, made before July 1 should be considered tampering. No question about that.

This is what I have told people before. It's easy to argue that Wade was working as an agent for the Heat. However, that is also why the Cavs received the S&T Heat. Basically it was a hush deal to make this all go away. It really wouldnt' have done the NBA any good.

I kind of thought that myself too. Does the fact that it bacame a S&T render the point moot? However, you cant muzzle players, and you cant control who they hang with or talk to, and you cant regulate what they say to each other. Trying to do otherwise would be a bit dicey what with that first amendment thing and all. So, while Cuban might be making some noise (rather self serving imo) there really isnt any way to enforce any kind rule they might try to pass.
Does anybody think that Stern had something to do with the signings becoming S&T's? I really believe his butt is on the line, and team owners collectively cant be happy at all about how this went down. Players getting together to pick where they are going to play has to scare the crap out of most of the team owners, and it is the team owners collectively that Stern has to answer to.
