Are you talking about Hurley or Irving? Either way you are confused.

If you are talking about Hurley he was arguably the third best player behind Grant Hill and Christian Laettner. And without argument he was not "by far" better than either of those players. He wasn't even the first PG taken in the 1993 draft - Anfernee Hardaway was.

If you are talking about Iriving well he only one year for Duke. He only played 11 games that year. Duke lost in the Sweet 16 that year.

And it was essentially the same roster that won it all the year before, and Irving was the best player on the team.

I think they'll win 20. This is a better team that we had last year.

I was at the Wine and Gold scrimmage today. It was a lot of fun just to see the guys in action.

A few notes (keeping in mind this a team scrimmage):

-Kyrie's got amazing court vision. He was making some smooth alley oop passes (mostly to Gold team mate Omri Casspi). He has very good awareness of where people are and you can see he's always scanning the floor. It'll be nice to finally have a quarterback in Cleveland.
-Tristan Thompson should be able to produce right away with his hustle and athleticism getting offensive rebounds and put backs. He gets off the ground about as fast as anyone I've ever seen. Seems like he can finish with both hands around the rim. His shot is a line drive and looks pretty awful and I didn't really see much semblance of a post game.

I think scoring in the half court will be the hardest thing for the Cavs this year. We'll probably look to push the ball a fair amount. I don't see how else we'll be able to put points on the board consistently with these players.

I'm excited about Irving, was never that excited about the Thompson pick but I'm keeping an open mind.

In the 1st preseason game he did a great job pushing the ball, would have liked to see a little bit more pure playmaking but it will come in time I think. Solid core piece I think we can build upon.

This year ultimately we are best served building good habits with our young guys and getting another high pick. If we can dump some old vets like Jamison to pick up additional picks all the better.
