I did not watch him during the college season but man his D, athletic ability, rebounding, and stroke look really good. The #19 is supposed to have some bust potential because sure things get drafted earlier. I would love to see him put on 15 pounds and play the 3 for us

I see what you're saying, but in my opinion at that point you're looking for role players. And you want your role players to be good at a few things and you know they can do those things well. Picking based on potential at 19 could lead to a straight wasted pick, while picking a guy you know can block shots, shoot the 3, defend, etc. gives you a guy who can be productive even if he doesn't reach his ceiling.

Don't forget though that the league is designed to maintain a competitive balance and replenish talent. If you don't beat your picks, win some trades, etc. you cannot win in the league. I worry that by drafting the sure thing, albeit less talented player, means Jason Kopono, Luke Jackson, etc. and that you aren't worse for swinging for the fences on a JJ Hickson or Christian Eyenga. Sure, the league is filled with overdrafted busts, but missing on Martynas Andriuskevicius is better than passing on Tony Parker.

If you don't think someone can break out of their slot, sure, draft Daniel Gibson or Danny Green and hope for the best. But if you have an intriguing player who could blow up, draft him and sign a vet to fill your need.

Luke Jackson actually fell to us according to mocks, lol. After we got LeBron we had bad draft luck, we just picked too late to get great players. Sure we passed on Al Jefferson but those drafts/FA classes were poop
