Yeah, I have no real need for Cousins either (nor should anyone outside of the Cavs organization).

But I think you're going too far if you're suggesting a team that just won 24 games has no need for a center with all-star potential (at the very least). I get the risk thing, but that's a completely different element.

How is that a different element? I don't at all doubt that the Cavs can use talented players, but there's way more to getting one that taking any old player without taking into consideration how much they cost, how they'd fit in with a very young team etc. Not taking those things into consideration is just tossing crap against a wall and hoping some of it sticks.

For example, it's one thing to suggest the Cavs pass on Noel because of the knee risk. It's another thing to suggest the Cavs have no real need for Noel because of the knee risk.

Maybe it's semantics, but I think those are two complete different things.

I suggested on the trades and transaction page that if DMC is on the radar it has to be a three way trade so we do not keep him in the end. Something like

Cleveland trades the number one, no 19, and a future protected number and waiters
Sac trades DMC and the number 7
Washington trades the number 3 and Bradley Beal

We end up with the number 3 7 and Beal
sac gets waiters and the number 1 and rid of a nut
wiz get the nut wall wants to play with, no 19, and a future protected number one

This is actually a very reasonable trade.

My only issue with this is CLE not getting a potential game-changer (i.e. Cousins), which should be the goal in any trade they make, as opposed to just swapping players (not to mention, while Beal is probably a better fit for CLE, it's very debatable who is better between him and Waiters). They have a lot of assets, and I think they should go for the homerun.

Why would we want Cousins? Terrible attitude, off court issues and average talent. Move to the next option.

I was intrigued with Kevin Love offer

Unless a Kevin Love + Kyrie Irving combination helps lure a big-time player in Free Agency (LeBron, or even a lesser star), that offer would only solidify the Cavs as a treadmill team. Is that what you want?

Lol Cousins doesn't have off the court issues, he's never been arrested, he's not getting DUI's or murdering people.

He has a temper and no one in Sacramento knows how to handle it, Paul Westphal hated his job and Keith Smart is stupid. Let's see how Mike Malone works out, I bet DMC's production/efficiency goes up and we all forget about those "issues" pretty easily.

That's a garbage deal for a talent like Cousins, but if I was a GM this would be about the max I would offer for the guy. I don't care how talented he is, he is such a headcase I want him nowhere near my young team.

Nice job trying to deflect the blame, I understand the Sac situation was a tad toxic but still he could have acted like a professional. Can you explain why he had issues in college AND highschool? Face it, the kid just has some maturity issue's. I don't think he is a wannabe thug running around getting arrested, but he does have some serious growing up to do before I would offer him a max.

Not really. I don't literally hate him. He might be a really good guy to hang out with. He might be generous and give his money to the needy, kind, encouraging...but this a basketball forum and I only know anything about him in a basketball context. From that perspective, he is immature and has attitude problems that hurt the team. It that is literally hating him, fine.

Right oikosnomos, when folks talk about Cousins it's because Sac fans are trying to tell us what his value would be to us without discounting his value due to his immaturity etc.
