The Cavs have a very young core. When it will click or even if it will click is something that can't be known until it happens, but the goal is to stop tanking and start winning. Instead of having a bunch of NBADL quality talent surrounding our young core, we now have a bunch of NBA quality talent, and that will make a huge difference.
I think competing for the 6th spot in the playoffs is a reasonable goal of this team. I don't think that will require an extreme upside performance, but it will require some improvement from our young players, Bennett being a + rather than a -, and Varejao & Bynum combining to provide something close to 82 games.
Their biggest challenge will be picking up Mike Brown's defense, and the ability of the vets on the team to stay healthy and accelerate the process will be crucial, but even if they struggle, they have enough talent on offense to win games.
