Re: Cavs vs Suns
Seriously. What in the world was that second half?
I was ready for Brown to pull all of the starters and most of the bench players and to give a Delly/Karasev/Felix/Bennett/Sims lineup a chance to not look like crap.
We should have come out and shut them down in the first 5 minutes of the third quarter and had a laugher with plenty of time for the backups to get some burn. Instead we let them get some momentum, which got the refs on their side, and which then earned them every call because they were the aggressive team. I cant even get too mad at the refs for screwing the Cavs, the Suns came out and were more focused.
Ouch.

It really is pointless to keep forcing the issue of playoffs at this point. It's obvious that this core simply isn't that good together, and a first round matchup with the Heat/Pacers is going to be a blood bath. Cavs should be developing the young guys instead of trying to force this mediocre roster into the playoffs. We are becoming what the Bucks have been for the last few seasons right before our eyes, a mediocre team that the front office is trying to force into a 7/8 seed to get into the playoffs. I just don't understand the line of thinking the front office has with this forced playoff push.

Also, no idea why Deng would stay with this sorry ass team. So we basically gave out a few picks and hurt our own draft position this year for a guy who will be gone very soon

Not to get too down; but it is pretty evident that the roster is fundamentally flawed.
Missing a Center (Bynum was a bust), SG (left blank) and PF/SF hybrid (Clark and Bennett have been no shows).
There just aren't enough pieces that fit. Irving, Deng, Thompson fill their roles/positions.
Varejao is playing out of his role; and Jack/Waiters are stepping on one another's toes.
They are stuck out of position and without a defined inside-out or outside-in identity...

Not sure we're in the position to pay him. Deng is a player who belongs on a good team, asking him to create for himself is a bit much. His talents are best shown in an offense in which he has a role, not one where he bears the burden of making things happen. Luol Deng being your 2nd best player is not a good thing. You can argue that he was that in Chicago, but he also had a two reliable bigs and a team that knew how to play basketball.
Ugh, it's obvious this team needs to make a move.

Now I can see why CHI did not want to give Deng tons of cash. He is a system player nothing more.

Jack sucks. I'm not sure Kyrie is willing/capable of playing with an actual shooting guard. That's why I don't want to trade for Afflalo. I think the Cavs have to figure out if they want to keep Kyrie or not. If they want to keep him, they need a pure three and D guy at the 2. Even then Kyrie is actually going to have to feed that player when they get hot.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Been saying it over and over. He's overrated and mediocre.
