Cavs roster

Post#1 » by Golabki » Fri Feb 21, 2014 10:51 pm

Outsider here:

The Cleveland now has

1 guy who is supposed to be a #1 offensive options (Irving)
2 guys who are elite role players who have been top 3 players on contenders (AV and Deng)
2 guys who we who can play big roles a good teams (Jack and Hawes)
2 guys who should be rising players in the league (Waiters and Thompson)

If Irving is half the player he is supposed to be and Waters an Thompson are even close to competent, this team should be a second round playoff team in the East.

What do Cavs fans think going into the second half?

Will struggle to make the playoffs given our season to date. Cant finish in the top 6 so no second round of playoffs. I think we have a decent roster but its been a disaster season.

What an idiotic assumption. The Cavvs would have to rise up to at least 6th to have any chance to play in the second round. That's actually a pretty big move from where they a started. Its just not very smart to make such a statement.

Depends on how healthy their roster is. Right now Waiters, AV, and CJ are all out with injuries.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

I never said "I assume they will make the second round". I said "they should", meaning, the fact that they probably aren't going says something pretty bad SOME part of this team.

What you said is that if the Cavs are not a second round team Irving is not half the player he's supposed to be and Waiters and Thompson are not close to competent.

I stand with my previous statement.

Hey Cavs fans, Raptors fan here. I can't find an appropriate thread to ask this, so I figured I would go ahead and post it here. What are your thoughts on Karasev? I really liked him in the offseason and thought he was a great pick for you guys and possibly your SF of the future. However, he is only playing 7 minutes a game. Is is due to him not looking good at all? What are your thoughts on his long-term potential?

No offense, but I think you are reading too far into this. The question is valid, and on paper, this roster has at least "2nd round" talent. The answer to OP's question is simply too little, too late. This season started off like a train wreck, and the team dug themselves into a deep hole to start the season. If this team started the season playing the way they have been over the past ~10 games, they would likely find themselves in a much better position, ie. 4-6 seed, looking as if they will at least make it into the next round.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I am very literal. I don't really try to interpret what your feeling may have been when you make a comment, I just look at what you actually said. And to be honest, that was accurate.

That is my interpretation of what the OP said.

Anyone think the Cavs take a rental of Jimmer now that he's available? I don't want him just asking for opinions
Screw Ladouchebag forever and always
Screw most owners that are stupid and greedy
Screw the devil david stern
Screw the officials that handed the heat a championship
And screw the media that loves to tell us who we should love and why.

I think that this team is begging for a knock down 3 pt shooter. Jimmer isn't coming to Cleveland however.
