Is Blatt to passive with the officials?

Post#1 » by jbk1234 » Tue Dec 23, 2014 1:20 am

I know Dion chirps at the officials too much but I've never seen a player who gets fouled more often without getting the call. At some point doesn't Blatt need to do the chirping instead of Dion?

From last night's game:

Yeah dion gets hammered more than anyone I've ever seen without a foul call. If he was lebron or someone he'd be shooting 8 more free throws a game, it's ridiculous.

And then everyone's like he can't finish at the rim. Yeah it's hard to finish at the rim when you are getting raked across the arms or body checked into the baseline.

Maybe he should legally change his name to James Harden.

Love routinely gets raped in the post. It seems a 50/50 proposition whether he'll get any calls down there in a given game.

Dion gets it far worse. But, as I have said, Dion's attitude isn't a secret in the NBA. Refs may not actively punish people (that one T aside), but they don't have to help you either.

Is the attitude thing valid though? Lebron gets plenty of calls but he complains a lot and sooks if he doesnt get a call..

Complaining is one thing. Reputation around the league is another.

LeBron is LeBron. Waiters is best known around the league as a cancer (justified or not).

Yeah but why should the refs care about that though? (Cancer thing)

It engenders a predisposition to not like the guy. It's like any work environment; when you hear about a guy that is a jerk, incompetent, malcontent or whatever, many folks are prone to judging without ever having met him.

Like anyone else, refs have their favorites and not-so-favorites.

Let's just finish by saying that having a bad attitude, no matter the vocation, rarely helps one's chances at success.
