allstar. if i.t. misses the first 2 months he and LeBron with korver, love, smith, compliment him so well. he can drive and kick and LeBron will have him getting one on one drives ability to do his penetration game. I hate the cavs but love rose. so now I'm finally accepting that he will have his best season up until Thomas throws his mins down. this is better then any bulls team he ever been on. I hate that I will be cheering for them just a little bit since hes on the team. hes so slept on these days its a shame. they don't even need Thomas but I see rose sliding to the 2 once hes back. Shumpert has to go and jr smith slide over to sf. eventually they will trade smith also. cant have crowder korver and bron all at one position.i don't know if Richard Jefferson is still on the team or not. if so they really are crowded.

people on here are clear haters. hes never going to be a six man while hes still in his prime. hes a starter and always will be until hes old. the man can beat anybody off the dribble and is still very fast and athletic. much faster and athletic then Thomas. people need to stop hating on him. sure he lost explosiveness but hes no bum. calling him a six man is disrespectful. he will find a way to start with Thomas on the team. LeBron will vouch for him. he either starts or he will ask for a trade. write this down and mark my words. he hes coming off the bench it will only be temporary. hes not rondo. hes high on himself.

He will be fine. The Cavs don't need him to be efficient; they need him to be willing to take shots. The Cavs lack playmakers.

Korver, Smith, Frye, Shumpert, and Jefferson each take > 50% of their shots beyond the arc, and >75% for Smith and Korver. There is no concern of them driving or stepping in for a mid-range shot.

We had that offensive fearlessness with Delly, didn't have it with Williams last year.

Rose signed here with the intention of coming off the bench and unless he plays much better defense than he did in NY that's exactly what he'll be doing.

I don't think it's really disrespectful to come off the bench. Manu Ginobli is a very great example of this when he was in his prime or just past it.

You can sig me on this but Cavs fans will be so glad that D-Rose did sign for the Cavs. I think after hearing Rose, it seems like he has not taken a day off this summer and has worked on his body and worked on his game.

I think he is going to be damn good this year. Hell, in this leastern conference, he might even make the all-star team (if IT is out until Feb).

Sounds like he is gong to be starting until IT4 returns. That was not what he was brought here to do, but I can understand it ,with Calderon and Felder both of whom should be waived before October are going to give us.
I see a trade in the works before camp is over,if it isn't going well.To push Rose back to the bench pg role. We should have an upgrade defensively to all our pg options anyway.

It looks to me like Wade should start at point until IT is healthy pushing Rose back to the 2nd unit. Wonder what happens after IT comes back though.

Wade's handle is pretty bad at this point in his career. He had major ball security issues when trying to initiate offense on his own last year and worked best with his back to the basket. Rose's handle is still decent and he can still collapse a defense and create open looks on the outside. It's just a matter of getting him to tunnel-vision less and be less binary in his decision-making. Playing with a distributor like Lebron on a team that has more emphasis on ball movement instead of the your-turn/my-turn mess in NY should help make him a decent stop-gap until Thomas is back.

Well, I didn't see him play much last season, I hope your assessment isn't totally accurate. What I don't want to see is Lebron being the primary ball handler from game one. Other teams will pick up on that and try to make it difficult for him thus making Lebron expend more energy than should be necessary. To me, if Wade cant be adequate handling the ball then definitely switch up he and Rose to see if that works better. It will be interesting at the start of the season and again if/when IT is ready.

Rose is finally fitting in and doing his thing well and the bonus is he has played solid defense ( at least compared to normal)
I have been impressed with his athleticism thus far and he really is starting to look like he is returning to form.
If he continues on this current path between him and IT4 we will have zero drop off in scoring ability from our pg's in the 2nd half of the season.

Would you sign Rose to an extension? (Whats the most the Cavs can offer him?)

I don't know what the max they can offer is, but his domino is a few behind Lebron's as far as resigning him goes. No Lebron= total rebuild. No need to bring Rose, Love, IT or Wade back. Nor Korver.
It also remains to be seen if he can even stay healthy enough to consider bringing him back. I am far more concerned with the entire team putting forth a professional effort every night than I am in thinking about next season and who is on the team then.

Yep way too soon, but I think Rose is one and done regardless esp if IT4 plays and the Cavs want to retain him.
