What seed would you like to see the Cavs get?

Let’s be real, at this point in the season, making up 7.5 games on the Celtics is about as much of a pipe dream as falling out of the playoffs for Detroit or Charlotte is a ridiculous nightmare. Realistically, Cleveland’s going to enter the playoffs seeded somewhere between 3 and 8.

With that said, what would be your preferred seeding for the Cavs? Seems to me like the worst-case scenario is to let Boston rest and heal up and then have to play them and Toronto back-to-back series while the Raptors get the benefit of relatively easy series to rest up.

Also, I’d say it seems reasonably certain at this point that the Raptors will get the 1 seed and the Celtics will get the 2. Couldn’t it be close to ideal to catch the Celtics in the first round while they’re still dealing with a bunch of injuries, then rest playing a relatively easy team like Indiana in Round 2 to be fresh for the Raptors? Especially if the road to slipping to the 7 seed involves more rest for LeBron and Kevin Love?

I’m not saying LeBron should just take the rest of the regular season off. Make sure that playoff spot’s 100% locked up instead of 99%. Give it a week or two to see if the Celtics are in a nosedive. But if there’s 8-10 games left, and you’re locked in that 3-8 range anyway, why not give LeBron a couple weeks off to get fresh and see if you can set yourself up with a more advantageous matchup?

If we can be higher than the 5 seed at this point i'd be surprised, probably be the 6th.
Too many injured key players not enough time to incorporate the new players with Love out etc.
Osman Hood out at worst time possible.
Thompson won't be right at all this season at this point.
Lue should step aside and let them do what works naturally just like in the first 2 games after the trade. Just not enough time to run his sets at a high level.
If he doesn't cut them loose I wouldn't be surprised if we limp in as the 7th.

Whatever seed let’s us beat the Celtics in the second round and play the better raptors in the conference finals.

So 3rd or worst case scenario 6th
