LBJ took a little less to get the Lakers under the second apron. You can tell he really wants to contend in L.A.

Them drafting his son and hiring his podcast buddy as HC I'm sure is worth $3 million lol especially since Sr is a billionaire.jbk1234 wrote:LBJ took a little less to get the Lakers under the second apron. You can tell he really wants to contend in L.A.

Value contract but he had a bit of a down year for the Heat last season. He's one of those players who barely shoots well enough to start when he's shooting well. When he's not, he's strictly a bench player.

He's similar to Okoro, starter on a bad team, bench player on a playoff team. Only difference is that Okoro is 23 and Martin will be 29 when the season starts.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I interesting that Ingram may extend with N.O. after all. Sounds like he's come off a max demand. I wonder if they extend Murphy as well, or whether they're at an impasse.

Ingram is worth a lot more to everybody if he comes off his max contract demand.
Even if they do offer Murphy the max, it's nowhere near as onerous.

I imagine it depends on how far off, but yes.

Re: Around The NBA
Pistons just claimed Reid off of Waivers. That about knocks out the remainder of their cap space.

Who knows, JBB has been coaching like each game could be his last for a while now. Maybe he'll chill in Detroit, or just never find a group of players he trusts to do what he wants on the floor.

He coached like that every season with the Rockets and Cavs... I would assume with the Grizzlies too. I think it is just who he is as a coach. He finds 8 guys he trusts and no one can break into that unless there's an injury or 2 or 3.JonFromVA wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:It's funny how they're actually a deep-ish team, given who their HC is loljbk1234 wrote:Pistons just claimed Reid off of Waivers. Idc enough to look but i wonder if his dad used short rotations when he was a head coach too. Maybe it is a learned behavior or passed down ideology.

They have a bit of space to pull off a S&T of something like Okoro + Niang for Stewart.

I don't hate it, but Stewart is a bit overpaid IMO.

Probably true in year 1 of this extension, but it's flat and he'll be making sub-MLE money by the end of it.

Just feels like yesterday this dude was a rookie on Blatt's squad.

Maybe we just thought JT Thor was a better move for us?

Maybe, but if they offered Yabusele a 2way contract, that was their first mistake.mcfly1204 wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/40906364/sources-guerschon-yabusele-joins-76ers-breakout-olympics

There's more guaranteed PT in Philly than there is in Cleveland. Which is the common theme here: you want to be attractive to guys on minimum deals, you have to give them a rotation spot. Philly only has Caleb Martin at the 4. Yabusele might beat him out in camp and start.
Surprised Yabusele was willing to take the minimum, but it's all to set up a real future NBA contract. His priority needed to be playing time, and Mobley/Wade/Niang are all in the way in Cleveland.
