Re: Trade Ideas - Part 2
If as you say Love won't sign here as a free agent, why would we trade anything to rent him for a year? Nobody ever explains this logic especially if they are as convince that he won't sign here. If he won't sign what makes you think hed resign and if he won't resign I don't see any point in pursuing him in the first place.

He would resign with you guys in a heartbeat. I think he has about five teams he would resign with.
Reports up here are saying late tonight that the Lakers, Celtics and Wolves are looking at a 3 team trade sending Love and Marshall to Boston, Rondo to Lakers and Randle and Kelly Olyniuk to Minnesota. Other pieces and picks involved to make the deal work. The ball is in Lebron's court.... If he wants Love Wiggins will be traded if not Wiggins stays. Again this is according to tspence26 on twitter. Don't shoot the messenger just passing along details as I read them.

I have no idea why the Lakers would be in that deal, but if you can get it done good luck with that. I think it's BS and I also don't see the Cavs moving Wiggins. In addition, I still think your previous statements were contradictory. I think that Minnesota is going to hold onto Love thinking that they'll find a better deal for him and I think the Cavs hold onto Wiggins to see what they've got in him.
I still don't think people understand that the Cavs are not just moving Wiggins, they'll have to move several other talented pieces just to make this work and frankly I just don't think Love is worth that much.

I gotta admit, pre-summer league I was all for trading the rights to Wiggins and Bennett for K-Love. However, now that's I've seen what these guys can do with Blatt.....F-that. No deal.
I'm content with trading Waiters for some front court help or even signing a tier B free agent for the year and seeing how it goes.
Side note: Anybody else super-freaking excited about how our offense is going to look this year?

LeBron likely changes how anyone sees the Cavs. Assuming Wiggins stays in Clev... that looks solid enough for Love to go S+T. If he refuses... then there's a BIG worry he goes UFA....in which case it cut's his trade value a lot.
Basically.... it's a 2 team auction now. The Bulls got Pau. Houston let Parsons go.. now lack trade chips. Suns are not winners. No other options. I expect the Cavs and Warriors play hardball ...wait till the Wolves cave in.
The Cavs and GSW can do a deal..or not..still be winning. Wolves need to salvage what they can.
CENSORED... No comment.

Good point. The Cavs and Warriors are going to be good with or without Love. They have no incentive to let go of coveted pieces just to acquire him. He's more a great luxury than a necessity for both teams. They can wait it out.

So, Randle and Olynyk is better than what the Cavs were reportedly offering sans wiggins? I just don't get it. I really don't.Chello1 wrote:TheOUTLAW wrote:If as you say Love won't sign here as a free agent, why would we trade anything to rent him for a year? I hope and pray that this wolves/lakers/celtics deal goes down so we don't have to hear about Kevin love anymore.

If this article is true. Lebron has spoken and he will get what he wants.
A league source said on July 17 that the Cavs are now willing to trade the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 draft.
Up until this point, it was assumed the Cavs wanted to hang onto Wiggins, largely because of comments made by Coach David Blatt.
However, a source said James wants the 6-10, 250-pound Love on the roster.
And, what James wants, he normally gets.
If this article is true. Lebron has spoken and he will get what he wants.

Ya. Without the contracts to make it work, the Cavs would have to add in other talented pieces as "filler". I'm not seeing how the numbers work for the Wiggins/Love swap

Bennett and a signed Wiggins (in 30 days) works.

Then why do it now, if youre the Cavs? Bennet's value can only go up while Love's will come down. This offer will be available until the Warriors include Klay (i'm still not sure why the Wolves want him so bad).

I like how people just throw in Bennett for the hell of it. I guess trading low is now a smart thing to do.bad_wolf wrote:mademan wrote:TheOUTLAW wrote:

Trading wiggins now not only throws Bennett in there for the hell of it, it also throws waiters and or Thompson because they would have to operate with wiggins being a $0 transaction due to him being unsigned

Cavs are acting desperate.
I cant believe they would throw Wiggins in a deal for a guy that will probably be a free agent next year and when you already have LeBron James.

I can see your point but when Lebron says he wants Love you do what he wants. He doesn't want to waste his prime years waiting on Wiggins to develop. Can you really blame him? He is 30 years old. Realistically how long will it take Wiggins to develop(if he develops)? 3 years? 4 years? 3 years is the absolute minimum from all the reports I've seen. Most say he's still very raw.

Dude. Cavs haven't even done anything. They're not acting anything unless you fall for every media report.Martin87 wrote:Cavs are acting desperate.

I don't trust griffin though. So far I don't see anything encouraging from him.

Re: Trade Ideas - Part 2
Why? When has "do whatever the player wants" worked? It sure as hell didn't work in Cleveland when we gave away all our cap space for Larry Hughes and donyell Marshall because Lebron wanted those guys. Can we stop panicking every time Lebron sneezes and let our team just be our team for once? I'm tired of panicked over reactions.Araxen wrote:Martin87 wrote:Cavs are acting desperate.

Regardless of what we think of wiggins, building a team around 3 max contracts is impossible under the new cba. You can't spend $70 million on 3 players and expect to even have a full starting 5, let alone a bench.

Wiggins, Bennett, Haywood, and Felix for Love works in the Trade Checker. That seems like a good deal which doesn't give up much depth.
