You must be tripping dude. I said Wade for Kyrie, and then facetiously said let's throw in Varejao so the salaries match. Never did I say Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh for Kyrie and Varejao, not to mention the Cavs probably wouldn't do that either. They're not giving up Kyrie because they're BUILDING AROUND HIM. Not to mention, that trade would need additional players from the Cavs for it to work due to the salaries not matching. C'mon bro, you're better than this.

Good, my job is done. Don't come here with an obvious troll trade idea and expect nothing. I see the bandwagon comment got you rattled.

It's a pretty poorly kept secret that the Cavs plan to make another trade or two soon. They have been and continue to be the most aggressive team on the market. It will be interesting to see what else Grant can create with all of the spare parts we have around, and if some of the new guys will even play a game before being moved along.

It's strange to see that the new guys wont even play until mid next week. Usually when things look strange, they are that way for a reason. Anyone else smelling another move?

Is it true that if L.A. makes the playoffs Cleveland would get something like the 16th-18th pick as opposed to the 28th-29th?

The Cavs would switch picks with the Lakers. This is all explained more than once in the Lakers pick thread.

GSW trades pf Andris Biedrins/ sg Brandon Rush/ sf Draymond Green/ pg Charles Jenkins/ a protected 2015 1st rd draft pick
CLE trades pg Daniel Gibson/ pf Marreese Speights/ sf Omri Casspi/ sg Wayne Ellington

GSW gets barely under the cap this year and shaves between 9 and 13 million under next years tax depending on whether Speights opts in, if he does, he's a talented 25 yr old on a decent contract at a premium position, maybe he figures it out, maybe not but he's a much better alternative to Biedrins. The other three are inconsistent role players on expiring contracts who have the shown the ability to have big games once in awhile. GSW doesn't give up a lot except that protected draft pick, the protection of which I can't figure.

Cleveland does this for that pick, first and foremost. They get rid of players who didn't fit into their long term plans and get a couple young role players on cheap contracts. They pretty much rent out next years cap, which I doubt they were planing on using anyways and stockpile more picks. They also aquire a couple expiring's next year, with which to try an swing a trade. They bottom out badly again this year getting another high pick and perserve a lot of capspace for 2014 *wink* *wink*
Final lineups look something like this, though, you know, I'm not really sure about either teams rotations right now.
pg Steph Curry/ Jarrett Jack/ Boobie Gibson
sg Klay Thompson/ Wayne Ellington/ Kent Bazemore
sf Harrison Barnes/ Richard Jefferson/ Omri Casspi
pf David Lee/ Carl Landry/ Jeremy Tyler
c Andrew Bogut/ Mareese Speights/ Festus Ezeli

pg Kyrie Irving/ Charles Jenkins/ Shaun Livingston
sg Dion Waiters/ Brandon Rush/ Josh Selby
sf Alonzo Gee/ CJ Miles/ Luke Walton
pf Tristan Thompson/ Draymond Green/ Kevin Jones
c Anderson Varejao/ Tyler Zeller/ Andris Biedrins

Here it is in ESPN's trade machine
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=aetyhr9

Basically, GSW uses player they're not really using and a pick and get Marreesse Speights and depth around the court in case of injury and CLE gets a pick, some 2014 expirings and a couple young players.

Looks like an awful lot to spend for a protected 2015 pick.

This. I think Speights is the best part of the package and we are the ones taking on all the salary. I think that would be an incredibly stupid trade.

Cleveland trades : Speights/Walton/ Casspi

Toranto trades : Andrea Bargnani

Sign me up. Eevn if Bargnani is still hirting.

That's worth the risk!!!!!

If we can flip our expiring for productive players that's the only way I do it.

That Golden State trade is awful. We don't take on contracts for a pick in a year where we expect to be competitive by. We can't take those risks anymore, the Speights trade made us better that one doesn't

The only Golden State scenario I want to see is:

Cleveland sends Luke Walton to Golden State for Andris Biedrins, right to swap 2014 1st round pick, and 2015 1st round pick. (Cleveland essentially buys a 2015 first round pick for $10 million, GS gets under Lux tax threshhold, and gets the sadly, more productive player).

Thoughts?

I think Cleveland is spending a lot of money to get a mid to late 1st in 2015.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I guess I was thinking that they just spent $8.7 million for a late 2015 lottery pick (if Speights picks up option), and that they could use some 1 year salary for 2013/14 to reach the salary floor without impeding on 2014 cap-space.

Kiwi where did u hear about the Bargnani rumor? I don't think I share your enthusiam, though. He needs to play the four, behind a defensive anchor of a C... I know Thompson is a good compliment, but he'd still be playing the five here...
