If Orlando Magic offered picks 5 & 8 to the Cavs for Pick 3......I may have to do that trade.

If we felt we had our franchise player already and just had to plug holes, it would make a lot of sense; but even Koby seems to realize that picking 3rd is important in a draft with 4 potential all-star caliber talents.
Perhaps most importantly, unless he hits on a superstar/all-star at 5 or 8, he would lose his job if he passes on a superstar/all-star that went 3 or 4.

Re: 2021 off season thread
It's not one I'd be interested in exploring unless we drafted Mobley. I just don't trust Nance to give us a starter's minutes for 60+ games. I think you start splitting minutes between Nance and Love with Love coming off the bench.KuruptedCav wrote:What’s the value difference between Kevin Love and Andrew Wiggins?

Possibly. Definitely seems like something you do if Orlando is offering #5 & #8 for #3 and you want to see how close those guys are to Green on your board.

That’s been circling in my head. I’m thinking it’s around 50/50 that Mobley is there at #3.
Similar to your feeling about Nance. I have zero confidence that Love will give the Cavs starters minutes, I like Taurean Prince pairing with Nance, and think PF is an easier position to fill with the MLE than SF…
I’m curious what either a
Allen, Hartenstein
Nance Jr., Prince
Wiggins, Osman
Green, Okoro
Garland, Sexton
Or
Allen, Hartenstein
Mobley, Nance Jr.
Wiggins, Prince
Sexton, Okoro
Garland, Osman
Rotation looks like. I like the 3-5 defense. The first group shouldn’t have an issue with 35 3FGAs per game; the second, I have spacing concerns with because of Mobley.

Or if you plan to move Sexton for a pick because you are drafting his replacement….

Which would still be a pick in the 5-8 range if you're working out those players.

Who knows what they will do now , awful lot of chatter about Sexton this and Sexton that contract rub and pick 3 replacement guards but nothing coming from the org but positive vibes about forwards available. Sexton could get shopped if he does not accept a less than max extension, beyond that I would bet on DG getting moved because he has more trade value farther away from his own contract talks and as a better plug into any roster where Sexton needs a perfect scenario with a big pg.
Sounds like Altman is going to either trade the pick for a veteran forward or use it on one imo. the Suggs and Green talk is guard head height focused bs and probably has no legs

Yeah I think if Barnes or Kuminga is their guy they might just pull the trigger at 3 with Toronto being a good landing spot for Barnes as well at 4.
But obviously taking Barnes at 5 and Giddey or Sengun at 8 would be a ideal scenario. I don't think orlando moves up for anyone at that price though esp not Green or Suggs since they have guards already.

Re: 2021 off season thread
Yeah, they did all this last year, kept the pick, and drafted Okoro (I remember we were totes taking Toppin). It's a great way to get your phone lines burning up with offers you might not think about. I'm pretty happy that Altman hasn't made a trade just to make it. He also hasn't flat out missed which not many GMs can say.Revenged25 wrote:Stillwater wrote:

Let the phone ring, listen, and if teams aren't offering fair value, then pass.

FYI, I'm not seeing anything from Woj on this. I see Amico retweeting some garbage Twitter account.

Sexton has to be traded but Altman needs to get real value back. If not, keep Sexton for another year until better offers come in as teams get more desperate.

I feel the same way...I can understand possibly trading Sexton esp if they draft another guard but why is this on the RealGM wiretap at this point? It just seems there is drama surrounding every player that ends up leaving this team and the common thread appears to be Koby Altman who appears to be in way over his head. Why alienate Sexton at this point who has been nothing but a hard working kid that actually likes playing in Cleveland? Most fans still don't understand what happened with the whole strange KPJ situation either.
Apparently Real Cavs Fans is currently down. I can only imagine the fans are very upset considering the organization has been hard selling Collin as a foundation piece since the day they drafted him.

Yeah thanks i just dont know anymore if i can trust what Altman says about when he stated "Cleveland wants to keep Sexton long-term, he also reiterated that the Cavs don't have to rush to sign him to a new deal with the extension window open until the start of the 2021-22 season". these stories about cavs shopping Sexton could be leaks but are more likely not and just pot stirring rival executive agendas from the nba combine gossip club.there is Jfro rumors quietly too based on Mobley falling to 3.
But its getting old regardless. Sexton doesn't deserve the hate he is getting frim this city.

I mean if you read the Woo tweet, it says they are exploring trade options, which isn't sourced but I'm sure the Cavs have explored trade options on everyone, I mean they even did it on Kyrie leading to him demanding a trade, as the team is still bad and they need to at least gauge the value of their players when none of them are LeBron/DWade/Kawhi/KD level of players to ensure they build the best team.
But it is also immediately followed up by "belief around the NBA" which is almost 100% meaning that the Cavs probably listened to some offers on Sexton by rival GMs that want him bad and are trying to stir crap up so that Sexton demands a trade and his value is lowered.

Re: 2021 off season thread
My guess is Altman called up a GM or two to see how much Sexton could hypothetically get just to properly evaluate his scenario and everything is blown out of proportion.

They took calls on Kyrie before offering him a max deal the first day he was a RFA. Good front offices know what all their choices are and they try to make informed ones.Revenged25 wrote:Stillwater wrote:jbk1234 wrote:Good luck, Stillwater. I mean that sincerely.
