Wade already ruled out for game 2. Allen is questionable but if the guy still isn't sleeping then i doubt he suits up tomorrow.

I heard Wade practiced though.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

That would be nice if he did. Even if he can only give 15 minutes.jbk1234 wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:Wade already ruled out for game 2. Allen is questionable but if the guy still isn't sleeping then i doubt he suits up tomorrow.

Allen didn't participate in shoot around so i assume he's a scratch again.
We'll see if jb switches his rotations at all tonight, to better matchup with the Celtics substitution pattern.

I think he probably has a cracked rib and they're calling it a contusion to keep the opponent guessing.

Yeah, same. My buddy just broke 3 ribs recently and their symptoms sound very similar. Also worth mentioning the initial x-ray was clean in my friend's case, so who knows if Allen ever got a 2nd look.jbk1234 wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:Allen didn't participate in shoot around so i assume he's a scratch again.

We've forced Celts into some pretty tough shots and they've made'em and I've liked our shot quality. I just don't see us throwing two at Tatum or Brown when they are posted up. The Celts are way too dangerous finding and making open shots
Feels like we just need to make MORE of our open shots lol
But idk, i feel like Cavs need to commit to taking something away, Celtics are kinda doing w.e they want.
JBB has never taken something away from an opponent. Him always letting his opponent dictate the matchups has been a primary frustration for me.
The Cavs during his tenure either out talent or out luck opponents to win. They rarely win games they shouldn’t win.
No real insight. The Celts are constructed to be a two-way 3pt shooting team. You either control the boards and hope it’s a chilly night or you lose.

Controlling the boards in a chilly night of shooting.
Let’s try this one: no real insight, just hope that our numbers come up in the Ohio lottery.

I was ready to fire JB at halftime after he put Niang and Morris in the same unit and we gave back the lead. Then Mobley had to get his 4th foul in 3rd for TT to get in, and he gave us great minutes.

I'll take it. Everyone showed up, i just hope the Cavs don't get too high off this.
Winning on the road in the post season is tough but hey 1-7 sounds a lot better than 0-8.
Was fun to watch.

I find it interesting people still do not take the Cavs seriously after this win ("gentlemen's sweep", "buying time for Porzingis", etc).
I guess there's that much of a dropoff to our vibe when Allen is not out there.
In a way, it does feel like we dodged some bullets out there (Tatum looking like he had his talent stolen by the Monstars lol, the Celtics building a brick house, etc).

Re: 2024 Playoffs ECSF: Cavs (4) / Celtics (1) (0-1)
I've seen a lot of ppl talk about the three point discrepancy and will admit that if the Celts shots as well as the Cavs did it literally would have been a tie game. However, I really do think our shot quality was much better and their threes were worse than game one (we will have to see on nba.com tomorrow).
To JB's credit, he's been preaching holding the Celts to 40 threes or less and they only had 35.
Overall, probably the best collective game we've played in a few months lol

I still don't think Niang should touch the floor. Even tho Merrill isn't hitting his shots, he seems to be the better impact player rn.
Tristan has given great play-off minutes this whole year so far. Honestly, would love to extend him another contract based on what we've seen from him here and in the RS.

With TT and LeVert, you've got a 7-man rotation. If you play Morris and Merrill 2-3 minutes a half (not together), that should be enough so that Niang doesn't see the floor again.
But I'll be surprised if Porzingis isn't back by Game 5, and at that point, it would be great to have Allen back.
