They seem to think that Amare alone makes them better than us. I guess I'll never understand Knick fan logic. They clearly don't understand how big a gap there was between us and them last year.

Well, they also seem to think that LeBron is definitely going to the Knicks or New Jersey. This is based off of a New Yorker who works for Nike and is on the NikeTalk forums... most of them consider him a legit source. I'm not familiar with him or the SN, so I cannot say.

I will say this: I now have found 8 fake twitter accounts that I previously thought were legit. It wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if someone is posing as the guy they think they know, and is taking them for a ride... it also wouldn't surprise me if it WAS the guy they think they know (BabyJ) and he was taking them for a ride.

I dunno if I can be surprised anymore this summer.

...and yet more "sources" claim:
A league source told the Bergen Record that LeBron James is deciding between the Nets, Cavaliers and Bulls.

Adande,

Nike asked LJ to hold off on announcing his decision until after the camp ends, so he's not a distraction. The consensus around the league is that he's staying.

Broussard (ESPN0 specualation is that Melo wants to play in NY in 2012. Lebron joins Amare for next year, then the three hook up. Lakers and Celtics fall back, Knicks have open path to title.

That is purely speculation especially since both LeBron and Melo are both SF's and Amare is about the same size at PF. I guess they want to be the Hawks redux.

Sounds very typical of something ESPN would write about.

Carmelo screwed up. He should have re-signed for 3 years instead of the 5 years...like LeBron, Wade & Bosh. If Melo was available this summer...then he'd have some options.

As it stands, his options are severely limited because of the CBA and the fact that there will only be a couple teams with significant cap space next summer... so his chances of declining option year and getting big deal from another contender-type is very low.

As for LeBron & Carmelo on the same team.... are you serious? I think I could see them getting into a fight...for real. There's a reason that they rarely were on the floor together when they played for the USA basketball team. It's like trying to put two plugs in the same socket - it isn't gonna happen without breaking something.

more than that they actually believe the "New York is Mecca" non-sense they spout.

My fault for going over there and reading there drivel, but I got a, ahem, 1 hour timeout for pointing out that, yes, it would in fact be big news if LeBron deigned to sign elsewhere than new york.

Wstrn Conf exec just told me LBJ, Bosh will join Wade in Mia. Hope he's wrong. LBJ-Bosh-Wade source is solid. Told me Shaw would turn down Cavs job 12 hrs b4 it happened. Dont kill the messenger on this. I'm just repeating what inside source said on LBJ, Bosh. Keep in mind he's in West. Source had heard that from Bosh's people. Not LeBron's. So who knows? Another exec said last week LBJ going to Chi. Basically, NBA execs are finally as in the dark as the rest of us. All of that said, this does come from well-connected exec. It is worth repeating. All of this makes me respect Kobe that much more. He would never treat his franchise this way. There's a reason Kobe has five rings and all these other guys have 1 between them. Same goes for Tim Duncan.

Based on several people who have talked to LeBron in last 72 hours, he is giving impression he's undecided after last week's meetings. He really likes Rose & Noah. But there's lack if shooters on roster. Also it doesn't sound like he's exactly being welcomed by Rose.

PDcavsinsider

Also, can confirm several reports of a rift between Wes Wesley & James camp. Wes was indeed pushing Chicago, I'm told.

Cavs have not contacted Chris Bosh, a source told Newsday, so does that mean no S&T pursuit? Does LeBron return to Cavs with no upgrade?

Goodnight, NBA fans. Despite a few of my sources, I leave you with this prediction, which I make w/a good deal of confidence: LeBron stays.

At this point, LeBron has tightly closed ranks, only seriously talking about decision with a couple people. Which is why so little info.

By signing Amar'e, Knicks basically put the onus back on LeBron. Can't complain about roster now. Gallo/Amar'e solid.

I kept telling people that I wasn't as strict as alot of Mods around here. There are quite a few places on this site that you get warnings just for making a comment that is different from what they want to believe. I was okay as long as you made the argument.
