I'm not sure when Shved got this supposed value. He looked okay in the Rising stars game, but otherwise I see nothing that'd imply that he was somebody worth having.

Shveds a pretty good player, someone worth having on your team for sure, but not worth giving up any assets for.

Yeah, I think it's ironic how Waiters is labeled a chucker but Shved is a young shooter

Oh and Shved was a worse shooter. Waiters issue was that he wasn't converting at the rim and he had bad shot selection. Both pretty easily fixable and yet he still shot a higher percentage.

same argument wolves fans used to say that Rubio should won ROY. Harp on defense and intangibles and ignore scoring.

Celtics fan here.

With Dwight & CP3 wanting to play together would the Cavs do a #1 for Blake so the Clippers could sign both of them with capspace? They'd probably need someone to absorb Crawford as the #1 cap hold is almost identical to his salary of $5m, that way they could get close enough to the max to appeal to Dwight & CP3.

I was just thinking it may work for both parties as I was assessing the KG (& Doc) to Clippers for Jordan/Bledsoe/#25. If the Clippers also had the #1 they would be less reluctant to hold Bledsoe for the possible Afflalo trade they are rumoured to be considering. They could select McLemore & the Cavs get the All-Star calibre player Cavs ownership appears to be after.

As you can probably guess, I am a Celtics fan who would love to get something for Garnett instead of the nothing we may if he retires.

Just a thought as it appears that if Chris Paul said this is what it would take to keep him the Clippers would do it.
This is hardly even fair, the rest of the league is playing checkers and Danny Ainge is playing 12-dimensional chess.

...

I have to think they would.
Hadn't thought of this, but it is a reasonable alternative to a Clippers/Lakers trade.

Change it from Crawford and his ridiculously long contract to Caron Butler and the one year left on his deal and Im on board.

Someone would have to do the math to be sure, but I think we would still have the ability to offer a max contract next offseason too.

With that being said, I dont see the Clippers trading Griffen just for the first pick, but we could offer some more picks to make it a better deal.

You'd have roughly $16-18m to offer barring any other signings this offseason.

it wouldn't be trading Griffin for the #1 pick, it would be trading him for the cap space to sign Howard, and getting the #1 pick would be a complete bonus.

In that case, can we keep the #1 as well. We would be happy to include the #19 and the lower cap hold that goes with it.

Just posted this on the GB. Glad to see it is being discussed. I am good with giving multiple firsts for Blake (SAC/MEM/) to get this done. I would assume we would have to take Jordan too no?

I might be in the minority, but I've never seen Griffin as an elite player. Besides the flashy dunks, His offense is not that impressive and the rebounding/defense for someone with his athleticism is underwhelming to say the least.

Also, what would happen to Tristan? I'd rather keep him and let him develop into our starting PF as opposed to trading for Blake and letting Tristan rot on the bench.

Am I supposed to be impressed? I saw his defense against the grizzles this postseason and I will pass. He is not good enough to be a 2nd option on a championship team. CP3/Griffin didn't get out of the first round so what makes you think Irving/Griffin would be much better? If we are going to trade all our picks away it should be for Love.

You said he had no offense. I just posted a video that showed you he had plenty of offense. Your response is that he has bad defense. Great logic

It was a joke, but in all seriousness, I would have hoped to see more from Griffin in year three on that end.

I'd love to have Griffin.
