Why doesn't the league want us playing back to back games in the same city in March?

The answer, at least partially: the MAC tournament.

Cavs add their first 2-way player, JT Thor per Shams.
https://www.cleveland.com/cavs/2024/08/cavs-signing-free-agent-forward-member-of-south-sudans-olympic-team.html
Edit: honestly he could be up with the main club for the first 50 games, i like his potetinal in the big man rotation. I wanna see what they do with the other two 2-way spots.

I know he was good in the Olympics, but a little worried we are taking that small sample as an indication he will be good in the future.
He was not an NBA player in his two years in Charlotte. However, its a two-way so just potential for a back-up big is sick

It for sure seems like the Cavs were using Paris as their own scouting combine. How wise that is, idk. If Bruno Caboclo was two-way eligible, he would probably be there right alongside JT Thor.ijspeelman wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:Cavs add their first 2-way player, JT Thor per Shams.

Believe it or not, JT Thor played 3 seasons with the Hornets.

Yeah, I'm not sure Thor is a better caliber of prospect or player than Isaiah Mobley or Pete Nance right now.

I think the funniest to me is the Travers situation. Dude gets bought out of his overseas deal so he can play in the NBA and the Cavs are just like, "yeah, that's cool, good luck with that" lmao

Yep, I don't see anything wrong projecting Olympic performance in to giving a guy a 2-way contract.
Plus he's athletic, has a solid wingspan, can shoot some, and is only 3 months older than the rookie we just drafted.

The NBA transaction log shows that Emoni has been signed to our 2nd two-way slot.

Pretty underwhelmed by the back third of the roster. Hopefully, Ty Jerome can stay healthy and contribute. Atkinson isn't in any type of position to run a 10-man rotation if the Cavs suffer more than a couple injuries.

You'd be surprised. Did you look at who his rotation consisted of the year the Nets made the playoffs? Every player is out of the league besides Dinwiddie and Dlojbk1234 wrote:Pretty underwhelmed by the back third of the roster. Hopefully, Ty Jerome can stay healthy and contribute. The Nets were 42-40 that year.

LeVert - 40 games
Allen
D'Lo: All-Star
Dinwiddie
Allen Crabbe - hasn't played since before the pandemic
Ed Davis - out of the NBA
Joe Harris - retired
Carroll - Cavs assistant coach
Kurucs - out of the NBA
Dudley - retired
Shabazz Napier - out of the NBA
Treveon Graham - out of the NBA
RHJ- out of the NBA
I think it's pretty dang impressive that collection of guys earned the 6th seed.

It was 5 years ago. Joe Harris just retired. I don't have the over/under on staying in the NBA as 5 years for the back third of our roster.

The point is, all those guys were mediocre to below mediocre.
There's not a single guy in that collection as good as Mitchell or Mobley. Plus Allen wasn't what he is now, back then.
People claim D'Lo = Garland but i think that's a disservice to Garland.
D'Lo/Dinwiddie/Napier
Harris/LeVert
Kurucs/Graham
Carroll/Dudley/RHJ
Allen/Davis
If jb was coaching that group, they win 22 games.
