I wouldn't count on Kings to actually make a pick like that.

Usually Kings strategy is to take the most popular available guy with their pick.

So they picked TRob in '12, Cousins in '10, Tyreke in '09, all these guys who were suppose to be drafted higher.

But yeah I heard about GSW wanting to pick Waiters at #7, which is hard to believe since they already have Klay, and Harrison fits their needs better, although they might have really wanted a 6th man.

I have no doubt Toronto would've picked him #8 instead of Ross though.

Forget I ever mentioned Len as a no. 7 to 10 pick. Watching Maryland versus N.C. Shows his game does not do well against better bigs. NO MORE PROJECTS!

Can't agree more: the Cavs are exiting the acquisition faze of the rebuilding plan and need to be ready to compete next year for the playoffs with an eye on a deep playoff run in 2014 regardless of whether they are able to add a "player" in free agency.

So immediate contributors who may be available in the Cavs range include: Noel (albeit mostly defensively and likely a few months behind), Porter, Muhammed, and Oladipo

If the Cavs have the Lakers pick, then Cauley-Stein (immediately defensively, 4th big behind Speights & ahead of Zeller); Plumlee, Crabbe, Robinson

If the Cavs have the Heat pick: then Withey or McDermott etc. players who do one thing well at a NBA caliber.

With two high second round picks, I'd expect the Cavs would be able to move up a few spots to nab a player they want from anywhere in the draft. Would not surprise me to see Cavs + Lakers/Heat pick to move into position to take one of the four on the list above, and then packaging the 2 seconds to get into the late first.

Muhammed and Oladipo are good players, but they're both undersized. Our SG and PF are already a little undersized, would be nice to balance that a little with Porter. Really hoping Washington deosn't grab him.

I still think that our SF needs are better addressed via trade or free agency. Someone like Gordon Hayward would be ideal, but I highly doubt we could pry him away from Utah anytime soon. Is anyone else infatuated with the young talent they have collected? If they can cash in a couple of young pieces for a legit PG, they are going to be a beast in the West.

Theyve done alright but they need to start playing them and get rid of guys like Al Jefferson.

I agree, if the want to continue to develop their young guys, Jefferson, and likely Millsap, have to go. Hayward, Favors, Kanter, even Burks, there is a lot to like in Utah.

I think both of you are right but when I look at the FA's this year, there are more quality bigs than 3's. Of all the free agents on the block, that I think will come here, Pekovic from the Wolves maybe a good move to lighten Andy's minutes and play center. You need four quality bigs to handle the load.

There just arn't any 3's that are going to be worth the FA money.

I also do not see us resigning Speights because I see some dumbass team signing him for over 8 mill a year and I'm not interested in a backup at that price. Hope we get lucky in the lottery and get a future 3 that way.

Woul be great if TJ Warren declared this year, none of the major draft sites seem to think he's going to though.

Porter has is taking a trajectory similar to Barnes last year in that it looked like a really good match for us for a long time, then he's seemingly become out of reach.

Robinson is going to be good, but I'd prefer if he was a little longer.

Poythress could be interesting with the Laker (crosses fingers) pick. Not going to be an offenseive force but from what I've seen he does all the little stuff well. He'll make the guys on the floor with him better.

Finish the tank strong fellas! We only have a few more weeks of this and then we can stop worrying about that dirty word for the forseeable future.

What a great loss. Combine that with LA winning, New Orleans, and yes even Orlando winning and it was a near dream day. If Sacramento and Detroit can somehow win tonight then you know things are going our way.

WIth Irving now 'resting', top 5 pick seems very likely.
Here's my Cavalier specific board as of today.

1) Noel - upside is still there and his rise times nicely with Andy.
2) Porter - does a bit of everything, including nice length on defense at our biggest position of need.
3) Oladipo - SG isn't ideal, but a perfect compliment to Waiters and Irving as he'll defend oppositions #1 guard.
4) McLemore - don't like the fit, but too talented to pass up.
5) Zeller - a near lock to be better than our current center of the future.

....and if its anyone but Porter I'd swing for the fences on C.J. Leslie to play SF with our second 1st.

with Waiters and Irving most likely down for the tanking, we may end up with the 3rd pick or the 2nd. It will be hard to say and I won't be watching. Sorry Dan.

I can't see us getting all the way up to 2 but it does seems that 3rd is possible but even that might be tough to hold on to with Detroit and Phoenix not just losing but stinking up the joint.

Who should the Cavs choose with the #1 pick?
