No idea why we didn't want to keep Crabbe especially trading him for future 2nd rounders

Bennett might not fit into the lineup right away but he has the most potential to be an all-star from this year's weak draft class. I was way surprised with the pick. I honestly believed Bennett would slip out of the top-5.
For the first time in my life I realized that I was truly happy.......then I remembered I was drunk.

There were those that thought that the Wiz coveted Bennett, but as a tweener he definitely had the chance to fall out of the top 5.

Sure, this year I had no favorite, Bennett looks good, hope he fits into the team

The word is "Our" but the Cavs were linked to just about every player in the top 5 except Bennett, fact is you really have to be careful with rumors this time of year. I'm still now sure whether we "are" happy with Bennett. We'll see once he plays.

Just found out who we drafted. Looking forward to reading through the thread and reading farts reaction to this.

I trust grant but i really wish we drafted for need. We now have 2 undersized power forwards. Ugh.

And **** 1.

Kinda annoying we've had a chance 3 years in a row to draft a young centre and passed every time.

No complaints with Bennett. I wanted and expected Len, but Bennett was one of about five relatively equal prospects and by nearly all accounts the guy as likely as anyone to become a star. Looks like an immediate pick n roll, pick n pop player.

Karasev seems like great value, although that was largely based on him rising up mocks late. Of course he was only rising on the rumors of the Cavaliers trading up to 13 for him, lol. One thing is for sure, we got the guy we wanted.

Crabbe I liked at #19 and am disappointed we dealt him. With the way this roster is shaping up he'd be overlapping with Ellington though.

Felix, people are going to love when they see the highlights. I see Jamario Moon. That's not bad and I think he can be a really good perimeter defender. Nice compliment to Waiters and Irving.

He's a 6 foot 6 inch PF? I'm surprised the Cavs went in this direction. Good luck. He was dominate in college and that does translate into the NBA.

Just win baby!

Hey Grandmama was a 6'5" pf and Charles Barkley was closer to 6'4"

I'm surprised at the number of people (idiots mainly) who think that the Cavs had among the worst drafts. Pretty shocking actually. While Bennett wasn't spoken of much at 1 that was mainly because the Cavs have Tristan and they really like him. The only thing that the Cavs did that I was not a fan of was trading Crabbe.

Hope it works out for you. Shocked to see a tweener go first overall like that.

Was sure you would take Len as he fit a need and seemed to be a guy that would have trade value as well with a few teams chasing him. He would have been a reach at 1 as well.

Did having Waiters scare management away from Oladipo and McLemore?

Idk why you guys don't think he can play 3...if gee plays 3 anthony is def a 3, he has a guard type game too...he would compensate for the small backcourt, esp with that freakish wingspan of his...just my 2 cents

They say he has the absolute highest ceiling in this draft and that if he was 2-3 inches taller it would not even be close that he would be the consensus #1. I see Thompson being the starting 5 in the future - sorta like Haslem in Miami.....Bennett should play the 4...

Anthony Bennett
When asked what his paramount adjustment will be at the next level, Bennett responded: “Transitioning my game from the power forward to the small forward”. Bennett was steadfast in proclaiming that his pro position is at the THREE, making it known without direct questioning.

Some scouts say you are the most “NBA ready” prospect in the draft. Is your game ready for the pros?

“I’m 6’7, so people say I’m a tweener, but I don’t really look at it like that. I dominated college all year. I scored inside and outside, I rebounded and helped my teammates score as well. So I feel I’m ready.”

He needs to drop about 30 pounds if we wants to play the 3......

And I thought Chris Grant said his position would be the 4

Our roster should have a lot of flexibility going forward. Irving and Waiters can play PG and SG. Gee and Karasev can play both wing positions. Bennett should see minutes at SF as well as PF. Tristan, Varejao, and Zeller can all play PF and C. At this point, if we either resign Livingston, or acquire another low-cost backup veteran PG, we have a very nice core going forward.

Irving/Livingston
Waiters/Ellington (assuming we resign him)
Gee/Karasev
Thompson/Bennett
Zeller/Varejao
Well at least we're not Detroit!

The draft was comical. Who would have thought Len/Noel/Mclemore would have went 5/6/7 and Noel being traded.

To be honest, I have no idea where anyone got the idea we were taking Len either. Fact is, the Cavs were talking to no one. All that was said were merely rumors from the media.
