Well, false alarm, Strus has been ruled out for tomorrow. Hopefully he didn't suffer a setback.
PS Mobley is questionable.

Probably a case where Strus would definitely play and might be telling people that, but the doctors haven't cleared him.

It's the Wizards. Unless both are 100%, neither should play.

Pistons released Reed. If he clears waivers, the Cavs need to ask themselves how confident they are that TT can fill in during the playoffs if someone gets hurt.

TT is non guaranteed, so that's a valid point.jbk1234 wrote:Pistons released Reed. If he clears waivers, the Cavs need to ask themselves how confident they are that TT can fill in during the playoffs if someone gets hurt.

Looks like Bates may get his first run of the season with the Charge tonight.

We also have the open roster spot. Reed can just fill the Damian Jones roster spot.

He had 10 points off the bench. The fact he made his season debut before Strus and Bates has a preseason knee surgery is wild to me.JujitsuFlip wrote:Looks like Bates may get his first run of the season with the Charge tonight.

I thought he was gonna be out all season for some reason. Glad he's back and he won't have a lost season

It's that time of year fans. Let's try to get all 4 guys in!
Too bad they consider most of our roster guards lol ended up having to put Wade in my 5th spot.

This team is wild. The Cavs have to make a move to dip the tax, but, it’s really difficult to swap a player to do so…
Just taking a minute to enjoy having the problem.

One of Jerome or Merrill will fall out of the regular-season rotation if everyone on the perimeter gets healthy. A simple solution will be to move one for no returning salary (should be easy to find a taker), then promote one of our two-way guys or sign a buyout player. We could also do the same with TT, but I imagine we'd have to pay a 2nd to trade him, and releasing him still leaves his cap hit.
All that said, I think we're more likely to take on a player into the MLE (I believe it can be used as a trade exception now) and go closer to the 1st apron than decide to be cheap with the way the team has played.

Nah TT is 100% non guaranteed, if he is cut in the next couple weeks, there should be no cap hit or you mean what we already paid him will be on the books?toooskies wrote:KuruptedCav wrote:This team is wild. I could see the TT scenario, though I think the Cavs actually need him.
Merrill makes sense, just sucks, he has gravity off the bench. But, Cavs are loaded with 6’5” guards…
I still think it’s more likely they try to duck the tax unless they find a major consolidation trade. But it would be roughly to see 1-12 on this roster moved given the level of play.

If he is cut, his prorated cap hit stays on the books. If he is traded for no salary, his cap hit goes to the team that traded for him.

I think the Cavs need a playable big behind our starters and Wade, but I haven’t seen anything from TT this year that makes me think he’s the guy.
But maybe he’s settled into that Udonis Haslem role.

Or maybe the Cavs just enter the tax a year earlier than they might want to? *shrugs*
It doesn't even matter if they see a path out of it before the repeater kicks in.

I like Strus looking like he's preparing for the Quarterfinals at Wimbledon.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I’m not worried as much about the repeater tax as I am about being over the 2nd apron for more than two years. Just depends on who we retain next year. LeVert, Jerome, and Merrill might get expensive.
