The Basketball Jones exclusive: LeBron's elbow speaks

Post#1 » by Scott Carefoot » Fri May 7, 2010 3:41 pm

LeBron James’ fragile right elbow would like to set the record straight over just how injured he is. Too bad LeBron’s left elbow doesn’t want to hear it.

Is LeBron actually left handed?

He writes with his left, but he does play basketball primarily right handed

This is more idiocy

What I find amusing is that people are just now noticing the sleeve that LeBrons been wearing for months.

Well to be fair, a ton of players where elbow/arm sleeves on their shooting arms to protect it and keep it warmed up. So I don't know why you would chastise ppl for not noticing something that tons of other players wear. If LeBron had a head problem would you be pissed off at people for not noticing he has always worn a headband?

I find your amusement amusing.

Isn't that in itself a poor example given players do not wear headbands for head injuries?
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Who's to say that some players don't in fact wear headbands to keep their massive ego from imploding from within their skulls?....

OK, fine let's say leg/knee sleeves.

How many players wear an arm sleeve without ever injuring their arm?
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Iverson, Bryant, Carter, Carmello, Dwight, Ray Ray, Mo Will, J-Smooth, Amare, T-Mac just off the top of my head.

Like I said earlier, many players wear sleeves for compression and heat retention so that their shooting arms or their legs stay loose with increased blood flow. I'm not saying players are wearing these sleeves as a fashion statement, just saying that there are other reasons for wearing them other than being injured and that it was silly to call out fans who didn't take notice of a single piece of athletic gear that so many players in the league use, not necessarily because they're injured.

The idiocy involved was making a video claiming that he is faking the injury. However, I also think it's kinda stupid to make comments about him wearing a sleeve now (I saw this on a sports show) without realizing that he's been wearing one for months.

For **** sake, it's virtually impossible to lookup elbow injuries for other players, just about every result pertains to LeBron. Point being, Iverson, Carter, and McGrady have all had elbow injuries at one point or another. I am willing to bet others on your list have as well. Vince Carter wears knee sleeves, if he ends up injury a knee, I won't be surprised.

What I don't get is the criticism that LeBron is getting while he's said the elbow isn't a problem and won't be a problem.

I'm currently playing on the same sprained elbow/bone bruise injury that Lebron has. For those who have never had the luxury of having it, I can tell you that it hurts like a mofo just moving it. Eventually the pain will go numb during a game, but every time you use it, you risk making the injury worse and prolonging the recovery. Waking up the next day is excrutiating. I think it's pretty classless how some of the Boston players are purposely fouling him on the arm and not even playing the ball. There's no way Lebron would have let game 2 get away if he could have helped it.

I waited for somebody to finally make a post like this before I returned. There was no criticism or mocking intended in that video, it's just supposed to be funny. I've learned that Cavs fans are (understandably) very sensitive about LeBron and really don't want to hear jokes about him.

For what it's worth, not only do I want the Cavs to come back and win the next two games, but I think they will. I want a Cavs-Magic conference final. The Celtics and their fans are the biggest d-bags in the league. Good luck.
