Amare Stoudemire

Post#1 » by JMac1 » Wed May 12, 2010 2:24 am

Do you guys think you should have traded JJ Hickson for him?

KTAR here in Phoenix reported in Feb that the Suns would have made the Amare deal with you guys, but you guys wanted to keep Hickson, thus went with Jamison. I thought Amare would have put you over the top. I don't think Jamison was the right choice then and now, what do you guys say?

I'm not sure whether I believe that or not. I can't imagine Ferry is stupid enough to pass on Amare because of Hickson.

Yea doesnt really matter now, there is little chance Amare is leaving the Suns now. But I dont think Amare would have fit in with the Cavs. I dont think he would just sit around waiting for lebron to pass him the ball. He knows he is getting the ball with Nash and has to be ready every second cause it can come from every angle, with lebron I just see him fitting in. Jaminson was a better fit, on the down side of his career and expects not to get the ball.

Anyway good luck Cavs fans, you can come back from this just have some faith
Suns fan since 1988 and always will be

Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this instance by an 'orrible ****... me!

Unless he could get this team to give better effort defensively and on the boards, it would not matter.

It's games like this where Lebron has a bad game (It happens) you need to have legit scoring big-man. KG cannot handle Amare and the Celtics as a team couldn't handle a LBJ/Amare pick N roll. I heard Cleveland turned down the deal but Amare also wants a Max contract which i'm not sure they could do with that payroll.

Why wouldnt we?

Traded bird rights, come very close to max deal, if not.

We could of gave like 60 milion 3 year deal.

Really doubt Hickson was off-limits. Maybe if Phoenix was trying to off-load J-Rich with STAT, but for Amare alone I don't see why Ferry would hesitate to move him.

We heard that Kerr was just being too indecisive. Last year at the deadline we were close to a deal for Amare but Phoenix pulled out at the last minute....Ferry didn't want to risk it happening again so he made his offers, Phoenix didn't accept, so he moved on.

edit: and yes, I obviously would have moved Hickson for Amare.

I could have sworn it was over JJ. I guess I had incorrect info. If that is the case, then there was nothing you guys could do.

Good luck. All you have to do is win 2 in a row.

he'd definitely be better than Jamison, although we don't run a real offense thanks to Mike Brown so unless you're LeBron you never have the chance to get into a rhythm its a joke

Also, until we get some real NBA guards i dont care who our power forward is we arent winnin a damn thing

That's true i just looked at the numbers rather the salaries. Cavs have some quality contracts off the books this summer to have made a potential Amare extension possible. I don't think any of us know who their future center would've been next to him though and maybe that factored in.
