This is supposed to be HUGE for the Cavaliers, because it was the coach LeBron wanted, although Gilbert preferred Shaw.

Okay, this is what's being said:

Sam Ammick (Ex-Sac journalist): He tweeted that Brian Shaw withdrew his name as a coach for the Cavs this afternoon.

WKNR is saying that it is VERY weird that Brian did that because just yesterday he was on the phone with coaches who would join him in Cleveland.

At any rate, they say it is VERY weird because Byron is basically giving up a shot at the Lakers job to take the Cavaliers job.

Again, check twitter and WKNR radio for up to the second updates.

I wish I could have seen Windy's face when he got up from the table. Will be interesting to hear why Shaw withdrew his name.
Anyone have any clue what this trade he says Shaq could be included in?

I also would love to have seen his face when he got the text that interrupted him on air.

I think I might have to agree that it looks that way. Scott is the guy that the "horsemen" supposedly said was LeBron's preference. Hope you're right.

Shaq S&T is very interesting...particularly if it is Shaq + Delonte for Erick Dampier's $13,078,000 unguaranteed contract... I think that would be pretty damn close to solidifying LeBron's return.

Windy said an hour ago that Shaw would be the coach within the next 2-5 days, but didn't want to say for sure.... His tweet before this Scott tweet stated Shaw was gathering his assistants...

There's no reason to believe that LeBron has not let word out from the "LeBron compound" in Akron that Scott is his guy...There's no way Shaw goes from gathering assistants to Scott being in contract talks without word being sent down from LeBron.... This means the Cavs and LeBron are talking hours before he becomes a FA..... Hmmmm...

I feel like a dumb Knicks fan with speculating... But, IMO, this is a very good sign...

Speculation is all we have left, lol. After reading this website for the last 2 years, this finally has gotten crazy enough to make me post something. I think it's about to get insane over the next few days.

Maybe but I doubt that LeBron is staying with the Cavs unless the have some sing and trade with the Raptors for Chris Bosh.As far as Bryron Scott being the new headcoach of the Cavs I think it's a great move.He was and is a top ten coach in the league and has gotten two teams into the playoffs in the Nets and Hornets multiple times and in the case of the Nets to the fianles twice in 2002 and 2003 with very weak squad that had J-Kidd in his prime along with two youngster in K-Mart and RJ with a bunch of scrubs.

The reason why Brant Shaw might have turn a 180 so fast is maybe he got word the Phil is leaving the Lakers and retiring i.e then he would be in the running and now with Scott as the coach in Cleveland almost sure fire to be the next head coach of the Lakers.

They are saying that Shaw "withdrew" his name from consideration this afternoon... but did he really? Or is he saving face?

Ironically, the reason Shaw was being touted as the inevitable coach for the Cavs is because yesterday Byron Scott said that he withdrew HIS name from consideration of the Cavaliers' job.

WEIRD stuff happening here!

Is LeBron coming back? Who is he bringing with him? Why is Gilbert so confident?

Hopefully we get the answers we want to hear very soon!

Brian Windhorst was very mum on the situation, but, he eluded to Shaq being included in a big sign and trade. He shut up quickly after that and said we'll have to read the paper over the next few days.

BW is saying that Scott withdrew yesterday because maybe he was getting frustrated with the Cavs' still interviewing candidates. He also says that there was problems with Shaw earlier, and they (the Cavs) decided that Scott was their guy.

He is also saying that the deal is NOT finalized yet, but that it is extremely close...basically just a couple things need fixed on contract.

There is also some other things that happened today (not being talked about) that Brian believes helped change the Cavaliers' name.

I'm not sure this means anything concerning LeBron. I think it means that Phil Jackson will be back in LAL however.
