Can Carlos Boozer Come Back to Cleveland?
I was just curious if the Cavs would consider a play for Boozer? The reason I ask is because he'd fit better on your team than Bosh or Amar'e (even though they no longer will be available). It was a thought I had so I'd figure I would ask.
KANGZZZZZ!

Utah and Cleveland are not very good trading partners, but stranger things have happened. I think Cleveland would get past the Boozer hate pretty quickly though.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Fans would forgive, we're suckers for anyone that chooses Cleveland.
The bad blood Boozer has was with a long ago displaced front office, no one here cares about that.
As someone elluded to, I don't see a deal that gets it done between these two teams.

I still hate him and will never forgive him for what he did.

I only blame the former Cavs organization for letting him go without having the Boozer's signature. Boozer is the best fit for the Cavs and I hope they pursue him. I don't blame him for taking the best avaialble contract. It is sad because LBJ and Boozer could have made quite a tandem and I believe a lot of the subsequent moves may not have been so bad.

You must not know what Boozer did.

If it somehow allowed the Cavs to keep LeBron, Boozer would be considered a savior.

You mean how Boozer was under contract with the Cavs and they failed to pick up his option. There was supposedly a gentlement's agreement between the Cavs and Boozer that he renegged on. Can you honestly blame him? If someone if offering you a considerable amount of money and you do not consider it, you are stupid. I respect anyone's right to maximize their earning capacity. If for some reason (e.g. bad housing investments, accountant stealing funds) Boozer lost money and suffered a serious injury that turned him into an end of the bench type of player, fans would not say pay the man because he was loyal.
If LeBron leaves Cleveland, I don't even think the two are in the same stratospher in terms of hatred. It was not as if Cleveland offered the same amount of money as Utah unlike in LBJ's situation where he can make more money with the Cavs than anyone else.

Yeah, you don't really know what went on. It was still Boozer and his wife that went in and begged the Cavs to free him up so that he could make his money earlier. Had he been free it wouldn't have been an issue, but he clearly lacked integrity in this situation.

Re: Can Carlos Boozer Come Back to Cleveland?
The fact that his own agent gave up millions of dollars and dropped Boozer as a client before he signed the contract should tell you how shady it was.

That still means the Cavs made a bad business decision. Every year we hear of athletes begging for more money, not to be traded, or pushing for a particular trade. Imagine if the Lakers traded Kobe when he demanded to be traded. At a certain point, you leave your franchise in the hands of professionals. While you may take your stars request into consideration, remember that the players work for you as a GM and not the other way around.
In Denver, the Nuggets have held firm with Carmelo Anthony (although he probably would prefer to be traded) and he is going to resign with the Nuggets.

Re: Can Carlos Boozer Come Back to Cleveland?
Funny, I was just wondering this topic in the Warriors thread. You really can't blame a 2ND ROUND PICK for wanting to cash in asap. Gilbert Arenas did something similar to our Warriors when he became a FA by bolting to the Wiz. However, unlike Booz, Arenas didn't stab anyone in the back in the process. It was our Ws' brass that didn't want to fork over the money.
Regardless of what happened in the past, the Cavs should really try to make something happen to bring Booz back. He's the best PF option available, and fits perfectly in the Cav's (and Byron Scott's) system. It's possible the city of Cleveland could've gotten their title by now, if Booz never left. Aren't guys like Jamison, Verajao, Hickson, West (the whole team) expendable at this point? The Cavs don't have to rebuild, but they do need some reliable help in the paint, and on the perimeter.

Re: Can Carlos Boozer Come Back to Cleveland?
So can us Jazz fans spout hatred to you guys assuming you get Boozer, Like you did to us for a few years? (:
Utah is trying to get boozer to stay and can offer the most money for a year longer.
As for Lebron, I hope he stays. It would be horrible for all small markets in the NBA, if he bolts. But on the bright side it might actually help in getting the hard cap in place.

Re: Can Carlos Boozer Come Back to Cleveland?
I would find it hard personally to have Boozer on this team. But, I will still be a Cavs fan regardless. I would hope there would be some sort of apology or coming clean by Boozer to the fans if he were to sign here. I would not blame this FO for signing him, they are trying to improve the team and keep Lebron, and not considering Boozer would be bad business.
I dont know if we would have won a title here if he had stayed. The bottom line is he is not a man of his word, and Pula, the Cavs could not have "had his signature" under the rules of the league. Otherwise the team would have taken a huge hit penalty wise. The T-Wolves lost something like 4 first round draft picks for doing the exact same thing, but they were dumb enough to have left evidence to screw themselves. I believe fully there was a deal in place between the Cavs and Boozer, but no paperwork at that time.
And, Pelinka left Boozer due to the negative pub he and his firm were getting at the time. I could imagine that it was that or Pelinka was out. In that case, the agent drops the client. Pelinka is just as guilty as Boozer, in fact even more imo. An agent is supposed to get the most for his client sure, but if the teams dont trust you at least somewhat, and refuse to work with you, as could have been the case you are screwed. If his firm had profited from that fiasco, it would have certainly hurt their standing with other teams around the league.

Re: Can Carlos Boozer Come Back to Cleveland?
I don't mean to say I would prefer that's how a player handles himself, but everyone makes him out to be some kind of child molester or thug. Truth be told, I have more difficulty rooting for a prima donna such as LBJ or someon like Delonte West who has had multiple trouble with the law. However, if I had to root for the team that had the best guys it would be difficult to like any team.
I root for the Cavs because of my time in Cleveland. My connection to the team has more to do with my love of Cleveland than the players on the roster.

I agree I would take him back at the right price, but I would want some sort of explanation/apology for what happened.
