Maybe a case for collusion and a way to keep his Cleveland will win first promise. Just a thought. Not sure how the owners working togther is any different from individual player working togther is different.

No need to get all whiny about this.

BTW the legal action would no be against LeBron but against the Heat. Since one would argue that the Wade was working as an agent for them.

What would be sweet would be proof about tampering and the league putting heavy sanctions on Miami.

There is no reason for legal action.

As for the collusion concept, that is a league matter and even if you punish Miami they wouldn't care because they got what they wanted.

The player tampering idea should be addressed because its not right for an employee of the Heat to be recruiting other teams players before the start of free agency....which Wade clearly did. That said, it isn't against the rules right now so its a non issue.

are you kidding? He was a free agent and left. That's all. In all honesty, I dont see how any1 can't respect his decision. You can be sick and disgusted that the hometown hero left, that I completely understand. But he took less money, put his ego aside, went to a Top 3 players city and team all for 1 reason TO WIN.

He put his $ where is mouth was. He said winning was all the decision would be about and it clearly was.

The Heat obviously tampered, but even if Gilbert has evidence, do you really think Stern is going to do anything to restrict his new cash cow? He'll look the other way because it will bring in more $$ for the league.

Even if Stern acknowledged the evidence, pursuing anything legally would be a waste of time because it wouldn't amount to anything. It's not like Stern would block the signing, lol.

My original thought here was if owners work together to benefit the owners in contract negotionations that's against the rules and can be punished. Well obviously these players acted togther to benefit a select few of them and give them unfair advantage in the same way. Agreements need to be binding to both parties to be legal. Maybe there's something here. Gilbert just dosen't shoot from the hip. I think he had something in mind when he made his promise

Gilbert just drop the price of all Lebron Fat heads to $17.41. The birth year of Benedict Arnold. Check it out at fathead.com

Gilbert should be more worried about the fat fine he is going to get when Stern gets back from vacation.

There is no rule against being friends... Jay Z and LeBron hung out, went to dinner, etc in the days before the free agency period started, think he mentioned the word New Jersey ever? Probably.

How did they "obviously" tamper? Any news reports or evidence, or are you just trolling?

Obviously they all took a little less to sign together. So it has been in the works. However, since Wade wasnt under contract I dont see how anbody can say he was an employee of the Heat. So, no there isnt going to be anything else. This is it.
Like Hot Rod Williams once said "I'm a Heat". Lebron's a Heat. Time to move on.

This would be impossible to prove. But in all likelihood, yes there was tampering going on from multiple teams for years.

"Represenatives" like William Wesley, statements carefully crafted in the press to not mention a player by name, just the whole way LeBron quit on you guys last year... sickening.

Are you really that big of a Heat dickrider to delude yourself into thinking this wasn't premeditated whatsoever? This has been in the works since the Olympics...and Wade was under contract with Miami the entire time. By the way, there was a free agent summit. But it was in Akron, not Miami.

I'm not jealous or trolling or whatever. I don't care about any sort of tampering, but to pretend like it didn't happen is just plain ignorant.

This is another good example of why these guys should be required to stay in college longer.

The 3 year college student convinced the 1-year guy and the HS kid to come be his lapdogs.

Raise the age minimum to 21. Time to have less children making millions in the league that haven't developed their brains or sensibilities. A 1-hour "special" to announce where you are going as a free agent which was akin to dropping an economic bomb in the middle of the area that paid you millions the past 7 years... and which you "came" from.

Assbag. He is still a child. College would have done him good.

...except that the communication started before any of them officially opted out of their deals. Wade was an employee of the Heat making public statements about courting LeBron.
The league didn't seem to have a problem with it so I'd assume that players are excluded from that rule. It is soemthing that should be addressed though. Potential free agents should not be recruited by anyone until free agency begins.

Not true. The NBA is actually a partnership, the owners are actually allowed to make decisions for the organization. The individual teams are franchises of the NBA partnership. The Players association actually collectively bargains with the NBA (partnership).
