Cavaliers sign Joey Graham

Post#1 » by shazam » Sun Jul 25, 2010 2:22 pm

Please tell me it has not come to this? Joey Graham??? I am sure fans are getting pumped for the upcoming season with that offseason acquistion. Now I understand thhere was not much left after 'The Debacle' I mean "The Decision" but c'mon Cavs ,the only way this better happen better be for dirt cheap cash and not a lot of years. The more i see people leave and the cavs not committ and overpay for players (which is a good thing ie Barnes) the more i think this is a rebuild its just the cavs will not come out and say it but lets face read between the lines. Samardo Samuels,Christian Eyenga, time to look at some young players while we get read for the lottery. hang in there Cavs fan it will get better because its sure gonna get worse here shortly.

It needs to be a rebuild, what I find odd is that we seem to be collecting ex Raptors

A stopgap to possibly keep the team respectable at the SF position. He never really has lived up to his potential and the position where he was drafted by the Raps. I wouldnt mind a two year deal for around 3 mil per year.
I think he would be better than Jamario as a starter, but it doesnt matter to me either way if we sign him or not. I am in favor of playing young guys without regard to wins and loses this coming season.

Joey Graham sucks.

I'd rather throw Eyenga out there at SF with Jawad/Moon than waste time with someone like Graham.

I read he's known for his defense....which means he's clueless on offense, lol.

Another Raptor swingman is a bit strange. Basically he's a roster filler. No harm, no foul.

I'd rather have Ira Newble.

Joey Graham = low basketball IQ.

Better off giving someone like Joe Alexander another chance. He hasn't been a bust as long.

Man, I love thinking about Gooble Newble. Can't believe we had to start him and Eric Snow next to LBJ for so long.

He's known for his pecs, his knack for missing defensive assignments, and his twin brother.

I didn't follow him in Denver, so I can't judge his performance there, but he was as dumb as rocks when he was the Raptors. Very little basketball IQ.

The guy has great athleticism and a strong frame, but that's pretty much it. He was a pylon on defence for us, which isn't saying a lot considering our team doesn't play much defence anyway, and he was often confused on his defensive assignments.

When given the opportunity, he could throw down a dunk. His shot and shot selection improved, but only in limited minutes.

Oh yeah, and he has his pilot's license too. One of our broadcasters wanted to give him the nickname "Sky Pilot". Joey didn't like it.

I highly respect the Cavs and I don't wish Graham on you guys.

So you have 3 ex-Raptors in your SG-SF rotation. Parker - Moon - Graham. Hope it works out better for you than it did for us.

I hope it's for the minimum. What about Jawad Williams? I thought he did enough to at least get another look. Personally, I see both as end of the bench type players.

Joey could have been the inspiration for the Sienfeld episode where Jerry has a girlfriend who is beautiful in the light, but ugly in the shadows. There is good Joey and there is bad Joey. One is never sure which will show up. He has the least number of brain farts playing at the 4.

Sounds more like an online dating website description than a basketball evaluation.

Another sign of how long a season it will be. Is there a possibility this guy could start? The fact that I even have to pose the question says it all.
