Ryan Hollins? Varejao? FA signing?

With the current roster I think it will be Andy. They wouldn't make him come off the bench behind Hollins. He'll still slide to PF too though.

My money is on Hickson for three reasons. 1. Varejao plays better coming off the bench for either the starting PF or C. 2. Scott wants to get out on the break for easy buckets, a smaller center in Hickson will help facilitate that. 3. Hickson held his own as the start C at the end of last season.

Spot on. If Hickson does not start it will be an outrage. I could see Scott starting AV though thats the problem.

I too would like to see Hickson start at C. However, for depth purposes Indiana now needs to move a body to make room for Magnum Rolle who is a C/PF and need a replacement for Murphy. Maybe a Powe for Solomon Jones and a future pick could work. Though we could use Powe ourselves, I really dont know that he will ever be more than a backup.

I would be very hesitant to move Powe right now. I am eager to see what kind of production we can get from him when he is running on two legs. If he pans out to be a legit backup PF, I think he would be loyal to Cleveland given we took a chance on signing him, when his own team balked on his qualifying offer. I also think Powe's production could make Varejao expendable.

Scott wants a running team so I assume Varejao and Hickson will be the starting frontcourt. Not really sure who will technically be the C and who will be PF. There should still be alot of minutes for Jamison, Powe, Hollins with Shaq, Z, and LeQuit gone.

I was hoping we would bring Kahn over, I liked him in college - he could develop into a solid rebounder/post defender for us at the 5.

I think Hickson is pegged in as the starting PF.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jamison either starting at SF or more likely coming off the bench.

I really dont want to see Jamison trying to defend the SF position for anything more than short stretches. I dont think that Powe is going to recover anything near where he was with the C's, I hope I am wrong though. I also think that Jamison will be the first big off the bench with either Andy or JJ being the C when that happens.

I still say Hickson starts at center. Horford has been playing out of position his entire NBA career. Amare and Lee both found success as centers. I second the notion of not wanting to see Jamison play SF, and I feel he will start next to Hickson at the 4. It should give Hickson some room to work down low on set plays, and give him a nice target when cutting to the basket. I hope JJ develops some passing skills...
