POLL: Where will the Cavs finish in the East?

Sports Illustrated proclaimed the Cavs as the worst team in their conference. How do you think they will stack up in the East?

Atlanta, Milwaukee and New York are also better than Cleveland.

We are not the worst team in the East.

I think we are better than or at worst competitive with: TOR, NJ, PHI, IND

Teams like NYK and WAS are arguable, but I don't think they are much better than us either. CHA is about equal, maybe slightly better than us.

Teams that are definitely better than us now: MIA/BOS/ORL/MIL/ATL/CHI.

I think basically we will be competing with NYK/CHA/WAS for the last couple playoff seeds.

It's a fuster cluck in the bottom half of the conference. Here is an attempt for me to rank them:

I think the first five are all playoff teams.

1. Miami
2. Boston
3. Orlando
4. Chicago
5. Atlanta

These next six will battle for three spots.

6. Phili
7. NY
8. Milwaukee
9. Charlotte
10. Washington
11. Indiana

These guys are hoping for a lucky bounce of the ping-pong balls.

12. Detroit
13. Cleveland
14. New Jersey
15. Toronto

It'll be a long season if you are right, but I hope you are. With the TPE and a good bounce of the ping pong balls we could be back to where we want to be in a couple of seasons.

I don't know if losing necessarily equals "a long season". I'm also a Celtics fan and 04-07 were fun seasons because it's nice watching the development of young players. As long as the Cavs get the young guys on the floor, I think it will be a worthwhile season. I'm anxious to watch Hickson, Harris, Eyenga, etc...

The last time this team tanked it was the dope smoker Darius and wrong way Rickey show. That was a loooong season. To me, there arent enough talented young players here yet to get excited about their growth during a losing season.

I'm much more optimistic than most fans here. We didn't bring in a high quality coach like Scott to tank. I expect 7th-9th seed.

12th or 13th I think.

I can't see us being 15th. Toronto looks like they could be historically bad.

Well, nearly 1/3 of the season is gone and I sort of flip-flopped Washington and Toronto. Otherwise I'm pretty much on the money.

The Cavs are in a bad patch but teams like the Wizards and Nets are still more awful than we are

I'd say the standings where they are are going to be it. Maybe Philly grabs the 8ths seed.

I see the Cavs finishing at 12.
