Brian Windhorst took his talents to south beach?
I just saw on first take that he is now the Miami Heat beat writer, so does that mean he left Cleveland.
If someone could just chime in on this with some information I would appreciate it. anybody? thanks

He joined ESPN, exclusively to cover the Heat.
I guess ESPN believes LeBron will be news worthy this season.
For Brian, LeBron was his chip in the big game and he jumped when the opportunity came up. Not being mismanaged by LMR he didn't become a doeche in doing so.

Hard to blame him.
If I remember correctly he actually has a good deal of family in Miami as well.

He mentioned once in an interview last year when someone asked whether he "lived and died" with the CLE losses like the fans do and he said flat out that while he has grown close to some of the players, it was purely a job for him.
While I like Windhorst, one of the best beat writers in the game, I'm not surprised at all he bailed to cover Lebron.

Sorry but Windy does look like a sellout. Can't say that I blame him. He's tied his cart to LeBron for over a decade now.
I can understand 'moving up' to cover the NBA for ESPN but that is not what happened.

Yes, Windhorst is a sellout, but sellouts = intelligent (if the price is right).
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Well, I will miss his reports. He was a first rate hoops reporter. Hard to blame him for trying to move up. He wasnt making tens of millions, and even if he took a $10,000 or so raise it (who knows how much of a bump he got) it was a career decision to leave the PD for espn. I wish him the best, like with Z I hold no ill will for him leaving.

Even if he makes the same amount of money, he would be National and he would be living in Miami, not Cleveland this winter. It is impossible to look down on him for the move. That being said, I am certain he is making more with ESPN than he did with the PD.

It's a career move for Brian Windhorst who had hitched is wagon to Lebron, as mentioned before, for quite sometime.

This guy is a joke and fraud pretending to be hurt when he did not come back to Cleveland.

To his credit, he only wrote for cleveland.com for 2 years after coming from akron, and he made his career out of reporting LeBron, so really all good with me, that's his business and whatever worked for him so far he should keep on doing that, he has no obligation to anyone.

LOL! Until now I thought he was still working for PD because this was his twitter account and it's still active : http://twitter.com/PDcavsinsider
Just realized that now Mary Schmitt Boyer is tweeting from it.

i don't blame him. He built his career around reporting on Lebron and has built up alot of goodwill in doing so. Good luck to him?

By far my favorite Cavs reporter ever.
But have you read the things he's "reporting" lately? He's becoming Lebron's apologist. His last article was fully on why Lebron is "different". Then it went on to talk about his haters and why/how he's being hated, and why he doesn't deserve it.

Havent read his stuff, but its not surprising if he is being an apologist. Hell his employer ran the special, you dont bite the hand that feeds you. As the syaing goes "Everybody has their price".
