ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher is reporting that Heat president Pat Riley may try to trade for a point guard in December.

On Dec. 15 most of the free agents that signed contracts this summer will become eligible in trades.

"Two different team executives said they expect the Heat to dangle $3 million and second-year PG Mario Chalmers to a lottery-bound team looking to shed the long-term contract of a mid-priced spot-up shooting PG," Bucher writes.

"Riley's objective is to find another shooter to space the floor, a la BJ Armstrong or John Paxson in their Chicago days playing alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen."

Bucher lists Jarrett Jack and Daniel Gibson as options.

There shouldn't be any reason for the Cavs to help Miami at this point.

Obviously Gilbers isn't going to deal Boobie to the Heat.
Chalmers, a super late 2nd, and $3M....which of those do we even need? (Hint: none)

the Heat could definitely use Gibson. They need some outside shooting badly, they don't however have anything to trade. I knew they'd have holes this year but it's looking like the holes are a bigger problem than I thought they'd be.

And its early in the season too. What happens when Bosh sprains his labia and is out three weeks as is normal for him? Or when Wade pulls a hammy? We knew they were going to be thin on the depth, hopefully it will come back to bite them in the shorts this season.

our demands would be one of either a) dwyane wade, b) the 1997 world series championship or c) the dolphins first two draft picks.

...Wait just a minute, this can't be true can it?? After all, we reportedly had no supporting cast around LeBron in Cleveland and that is why he couldn't win right? So why would he want any of our guys since they weren't good enough? They already have the quiter and Z, at one point they hoped to get Shaq on the cheap (pre-Boston) and now they want Boobie too?

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that mean that the Heat wanted to have 25%+ of our roster from last year?

As others have said, no way in hell Gilbert trades anything of value to the Heat unless it is a royal fleecing. I would trade Boobie if they wanted to give us their first round pick in every even number draft from 2016 through 2026. That would be a nice present for our kids and the future generation given that there woulds be some nice lottery picxks in there  .
