Which players on the Cavs, if any, should be considered keepers?
Here's who I think we definitely shouldn't keep:
Moon/Parker/Jawad/Powe (expirings)
Antawn/Mo/Andy (not good for rebuilding)
This leaves:
Joey Graham (inexpensive but pretty awful, and his contract expires after 2012) - NO
Daniel Gibson (I like Boobie, but his ceiling for a good team is like a third guard, right? Having said that, we don't have much else, so I would only move him if we got a solid piece in return) - MAYBE/YES
Ramon Sessions (young, fairly cheap, and active, but can't shoot and has struggled this year; still, his per-minute stats with MIL were nice, and his value is low right now...) - YES
Ryan Hollins (young/cheap and very athletic, but a bad rebounder for his size, bad defender, etc) - NO
JJ Hickson (lots of potential and still just 22, but awful defensively and with turnovers, and loses focus; still, his value is extremely low right now...) - YES, at least through this season
Samardo Samuels (can apparently score, but undersized and not really athletic) - NO
Christian Eyenga (athletic as hell, could become a great defender one day, but still not enough info to judge) - INCOMPLETE
Thoughts?

I agree that everyone is movable, but is there anyone you would want to keep/wouldn't mind if we didn't trade? For instance, if Gilbert/Grant refused to trade Mo Williams and said he was a valuable part of the team, I'd think that was stupid. But if they cleaned house and Ramon Sessions and Daniel GIbson didn't get traded, that would be fine with me. Obviously there aren't any no-doubt studs to keep, but is there anyone you'd like to keep?

Not really. I don't "want to" keep anyone. I want the best team possible and anyone can be moved to make that happen. If someone makes a good offer for Boobie, he should be gone. Same goes for all the young guys.smushparker wrote:I agree that everyone is movable, but is there anyone you would want to keep/wouldn't mind if we didn't trade? If they cleaned house and certain younger players didn't get moved that would mean the offers weren't good enough. I'm fine with that (unless the Cavs had unrealistic expectations wrt players value).

Agreed. This should be a total rebuild, meaning nobody is sacred and that any and all reasonable offers should be considered.

Boobie has been way better than antawn this year. I think we should trade Jamison to a contender at the deadlline. Teams may covet him because he could score off the bench and his contract is up after next year so they woul only have his terrible contract a year and a half.

Re: Keepers?
Of course you consider moving anyone, but I'd start with this....
Keep long term:
Andy, Boobie, Hickson, Eyenga
Move for value or keep:
Jamison, Mo, Sessions, Harris
Move immediately:
Powe, Parker
Who cares?:
Moon, Samuals, Graham, Hollins
Keep long term:
Andy, Boobie, Hickson, Eyenga
Move for value or keep:
Jamison, Mo, Sessions, Harris
Move immediately:
Powe, Parker
Who cares?:
Moon, Samuals, Graham, Hollins

Re: Keepers?
I did not come here to troll, but man Cavaliers are bad. To give my opinion on the topic. IMO no one on CLE is a keeper.
CLE should rebuild through the draft as many are suggesting. Suck for 2-3 years and hope getting lucky with top 3 picks. This is the only way imo. That is why management must trade players who have value for younger prospects or draft picks.
Varejao imo has the highest value, than Gibson and Mo. Parker would be good to veteran team and that is it.
And please tell me how Many Harris can start, he is no doubt the worst starter in the league, man how come he is even in NBA...I watch a loot of games but for a long time I have not seen someone so bad as Harris.

Must not of watched too many games or you would have seen Jawad Williams earlier in the year for us.klemen4 wrote:...I watch a loot of games but for a long time I have not seen someone so bad as Harris.
