I have a question for Cavs fans...Poll

Would you guys welcome back and forgive Lebron if he were to come back as a free agent, or if he demanded a trade back to Cleveland?

I am asking this because I am working on a video about the relationship between Lebron and Cavs fans, and your guy's replies will probably determine the ending.

Just let me know what you guys think, and how you would feel.

I'll be sure to post the video when I am finished.

A trade wouldn't be in anyone's best interest but if things in Miami went wrong (very unlikely) and he wanted to come back I wouldn't want him. He's got some serious fence mending to do first. If he publically apologized and acknowlowledged that he understood why many people here hate him then I might change my tune.

As tidho stated it would take some apologizing and some acknowledgement of wrong doing.... (which LeBron's ego will NEVER allow him to do) ..but afterall he still is one of the best players in the game.

He is one of the best players in the game, but his style of play is one that I never was really a fan of and have questioned for years now whether it was a style in which is capable of winning a title ?

I personally wouldn't want him back as I feel his legacy is tainted now that he's played for another team...There's something charming about players who play their career for one team throughout and cherish the opportunity to wanting to build a dynasty..

Furthermore, by doing what he did and trying to take an easier route to a title, it puts in question his character IMO and his competitive drive... (same goes for the other two guys as well) I think it's lacking quite a bit and I would rather try to find a player or a group of players that has the complete opposite mindset of LeBron...

LeBron hurt a lot of Cav's fans, that will never change. What if its 2014 & Miami hasn't won a title in the last 4 years. The Cav's are a young up & coming team. LeBron can opt out of his contract. They are one star player away from really challenging for a championship. As much as I hate to say this If that was the situation I would hope LeBron, The Cav's & The Fans could unite for 1 cause. In that situation& if he did some serious mending I could see it happening. But I don't think LeBron's pride would let him come back. Also would Dan Gilbert bring him back. So to answer your question I believe that Cav's fans are big enough to forget & could learn to cheer for LeBron again. I even believe Dan Gilbert would be OK with bringing him back(Dan is a business man & money talks). But I just don't think LeBron will have matured enough to say the right thing to everyone(Cav's, Cav's fans,NBA fans)to make it happen.

I would take him back just to trade him for players that fit better. LeBron ball does not win championships.

I'm kind of torn on this. I actually don't like any of the options above. There would need to be some serious bowing and scraping for him to be at all welcomed back. I'm not as critical as some others, but I don't think I'd ever want LeBron as the center of the Cavs universe again.

You're assuming that LeBron would be that missing piece as if you would be getting the same LeBron that carried this franchise. I truly believe 23 was better than 6 based on what I'm watching this year... His drive and competitiveness is not the same... His ability to be counted on down the stretch in the final minutes is not the same.. Hell, his overall hustle is not the same (how many chase downs does he have this year)..He's simply not the same leader there he was here...

2014 is a long ways away and LeBron's game has yet to adapt inside the 3 point line... I think his overall decline will be greater because of this fact.. Whereas guys like Kobe and Pierce can alter their games to rely on less athleticism, I don't see LeBron having as easy a transition and thus having a more dramatic decline unless he completely ends up reinventing himself...

And there's no way the Cavs would look at him as a missing piece and put him in a position to win a title...

Yes you are right. I also should of said mature as a player to be that team leader that it would take. He could be ,if he let himself be the perfect player to lead a young team. Not needing to be the #1 option & learn the inside game. 10-15 PT, 8-10 RPG, 8-10 A. That player could be the final piece to add to a young team. But I don't think he could be that player.

I'd take him back in a few years, not directly after Miami but maybe after he's 30 and mans up and apologizes for being such a prick on his departure. He's an incredible talent that made the Cavs relevant for a few years, got the #1 seed and over 60 wins a couple of times, made the finals. I loved the ride and I'd like another spin...in time.

I wonder how patient Miami is going to be if they can't get past the second round. I don't think they'd have the balls to do it, but wouldn't it be awesome if they decided Lebron was the problem and exiled him to the Kings or Raptors. It was Wade's team first, after all.

What a utterly ridiculous poll. It's hard to be taken serious as a legitimate professional sports franchise if your fan base is completely led by irrational emotion. Any answer other than absolutely to would the worst team in the NBA welcome the best player in the NBA is silly. How does a professional athlete who made a personal life and career decision he was empowered to make need OUR forgiveness for making a decision concerning HIS life. Thats like saying should I forgive you for eating spaghetti last night. Stuff like this is why other cities make fun of us.

Cleveland fans are passionate. LeBron had every right to leave I don't know anyone that would have argued with that. But there were a million ways to do it that would not have alienated the city and he didn't choose one. To equate it to a mealtime decision is just lunacy.
