The Cavs have an amazing opportunity in the next few years to put together an amazing young side. The only problem is if they fail to do it young guns will want out. Ive been thinking of the best way forward and heres my idea... ( just my opinion )

1st. Draft Kyrie... no brainer as he is the BPA and fills argueably the most important position with (hopefully) a future star. Plus he was born in Melbourne so hes my boy.
2nd. Draft a Center at 4... Valanciunas or Kanter, personally I would go Kanter if he is available as I think hes cieling is alot higher allthough if he isnt available Valanciunas would be a great pickup. My reasoning behind this is that I feel PG and C are the most important positions to fill and if you can fill them with potential superstars you have to take that chance.
3rd. Shop AV Jamison Davis and Sessions, they are all nice players but for a rebuilding team I think its best to get value out of these guys whilst its possible (I know Baron might only fetch a expiring at best) But AV Jamison and Sessions would be very valuable to the right contender. What I would look for out of these guys is young players or picks in the next 2 years, my reasoning behind this is whilst say AV could grow with the young core personally I think its better to give Hickson- Val/ Kanter the minutes+ AV and Jamison will help this side win games and I dont think that is preferable at this time.

Next year with a deep draft and most definatly a very high lotto pick Cleveland can then get a young stud on the wing(hopefully Barnes) I personally would love to see a core of Irving Barnes Kanter!
Anyway this is just something ive been thinking about. Cleveland has a exciting year ahead and I look forwatd to seeing how it pans out

Certainly a reasonable plan and I doubt the Cavaliers deviate much from this concept.

I don't think they'll look to move Davis and Sessions. I really think they want to keep Davisand just let him expire. He fits pretty well with Irving's expected development arch.

You've only listed Hickson, do you think guys like Eyenga or Harris will start for us next season. I don't believe we'll fill both wing positions with guys not currently on the roster if we go PG, C in round 1.

Even if we do draft a C at #4 Andy will start.

I expect Eyenga to be starting at the SG or SF spot within the next couple of seasons. If we are able to get Williams with the second pick, and he can effectively play SF, I think Eyenga could be a great fit between he and Irving. If we do not draft Williams, I think we should look to acquire a scorer to put Eyenga in the same position, be it at the 2 or the 3. I would be very interested in moving into the end of the lottery/mid first round to draft Marshon Brooks. With his scoring ability and length, I think he and Eyenga could make a great tandem on the wing.

For clarity's sake, my expectations for Eyenga are for him to be a 12/5 guy while playing great defense, which I do not think is that unrealistic.

I like your steps and hope the Cavs follow them but I think shopping Baron (now, at least) is a waste of time.

You are all probably right... Shoping Davis might be pointless, except if he is holding back minutes for Irving. I guess the plan is to give Davis minutes at SG to allow Irving playing time. Tibho yer I didnt list Eyenga and Harris because I dont see them as major parts to the big picture. Irving Hickson and #4 ( kanter) are the ones that matter. The reason I said they should shop guys like AV Davis and Jamison for young prospects is for 2 reason. 1. Need to stockpile young talent 2. these guys will bring Ws to the Cavs which IMO isnt a good idea when they can take a shot at a guy like Barnes. Imagine the season after next going in with

and a bunch of young talent and cap space ( I know premium FA wont come but they could get some nice role players)

I do think they should shop AV and Jamison for young talent. But with Baron, I think a buyout is far more likely than a trade.

Irving should get quite a bit of playing time. I'm not a fan of running a 2 PG lineup, but in limited spans it can be OK...maybe for a total of like 10mpg or so at most. It could result in Irving playing 30mpg and Baron 28mpg, which is pretty fair for both and still limits the 2 PG lineup.
