Kyrie Irving will be a legendary player. He is severely underrated on RealGM.

wizards fan here just wanted to drop by and say congrats on the #1 pick and Kyrie Irving. hes definitely going to your franchise player and a very good player in this league. i'd love to see the rivalry renewed with wall and irving going at it in the playoffs.

he will leave if he sees a fan base that throws a rookie that hasnt played a game under the bus... come on, seriously, we missed out on Kanter, and Jonas obviously wasn't what the Cavs wanted...can we let them play first, before saying they are a "waste of a lottery pick"?? Christ, reading this board is like being around a spoiled little brat kid that didn't get exactly what he wanted on Christmas, this pessimism is very obnoxious.

While I admit that Thompson wasnt who I expected for the Cavs to pick at #4, I am willing to give him a chance to see what he can do before labeling him a waste of a lottery pick. My concern now is we have a serious log jam at the 4. I am expecting for JJ or Andy to be moved.

I think it's hilarious how posters are allowed to praise picks (cough Irving cough), but NOT allowed to criticize them or they are like a "spoiled little brat kid."
Goes both ways....sorry some don't want to blindly slobber over every single thing the Cavs do.

dude chill i'm not saying EVERYONE is acting like a spoiled brat...criticism is completely expected, but some people are just literally throwing childish tantrums...big difference...not like I called anyone out...and what do you expect me to do but praise our #1 overall pick? I don't understand your little cough cough thing...should I be disappointed that we not only got the #1 overall prospect from this draft but potentially a solid player with him?

I agree that Irving is a hall of fame type of talent. I'm just trying to figure out if Tristan Thompson is starting in the NBA type talent, and I'm not sure he is. Hes brings some nice things to the table, but I really think he takes more things off.

Seeing Kyrie and Tristan together it is obvious they are good friends off the court. I wonder if that played into the selection of TT? I can see Kyrie forming a stronger bond with TT moreso than with a Euro such as Jonas who doesn't even speak English.

Yeah this is an overlooked component of the whole thing. Kyrie even said he was happy Tristan got picked since they are already good friends. This is like the Roy/Aldridge selections. You have 2 young players that'll grow together and motivate each other.
I'm a huge Kyrie Irving fan and he'll be one of the best players in the league in a few years. People love the freak athleticism that Wall and Rose possess, but Kyrie is a better floor general that both. He'll be just like CP3.

I think Kyrie Irving is the real deal, he'll be the straw that stirs the drink for a long while at a high level. He should be very close offensively to Mark Price back in the day with better defense and hopefully better health.
I think with Tristan the Cavs simply made the tough call that if they missed on the Williams/Kanter combo that they were more comfortable taking the guy with the highest floor that still has a good ceiling.
Worst case scenario is that he becomes an NBA version of what he already is, an athletic defensive first rebounding finisher. If it so happens that he keeps growing and learns a go to move-counter move and works on his free throws he could become a pretty impressive center.

I'm starting to get over the TT pick. Fans always want their FO to take BPA before the draft happens, but when they do and the BPA doesn't fill an immediate need they always get pissed. TT will be a good player and he was a guy we had ranked in the top 3 on our board. Might as well have faith in the kid. Hes a great person as well and plays a really exciting style of basketball. Even if he never becomes an allstar type player the fans will love his game.

Before the hall of fame, before the MVP award, before the all star games, let's just hope that he becomes a good starter. Kid has zero NBA games played right now. Give him time to grow.
