So now that the lockout has finally ended, are there any expectations you have for this upcoming shortened season? Do you expect the Cavs to suck another season and get a lottery pick for the 2012 draft? Do you expect for Irving to be the ROY?

lol, yes, the Cavs are going to be a lottery team again. likely in the top 3, fortunately.

I think someone like Walker will get the ROY because a) he has more experience and b) there is less talent on the team so he'll get more shot (cough chucking cough) opportunities. ROY obv is meaningless anyway though and I'm much more concerned with picking in the top 3 again (preferably #1 again, if you happen to be reading this Stern )

Ahh i've been waiting for the day we could discuss this as a reality rather than a hypothetical... I expect some great things for this team, they may still be a lotto-team, but like LAC, having some young good players will give us some great entertainment... I think we'll have one of, if not THE best point guard rotation/depth in the league...Baron and Kyrie=easy buckets for everyone...sooo much better than having Mo/Sessions/Boobie...my goodness, what an upgrade haha...Also, I think we're gonna have one of the better post defenses in the league, if they start TT and AV. Both are extremely mobile pick and roll defenders, and both move well without the ball, perfect for Baron+Kyrie...Omri Casspi is gonna be a huge wild-card that I think people are underestimating. He is a scrappy player, with a good outside shot, that also plays much better with a good playmaking PG. The young trio of Casspi-Irving-Thompson will be very fun to watch. Another guy I'm excited to watch develop with Kyrie is Eyenga. I wonder, if AP doesn't return, if Christian will become our starting SG. It's interesting to note, our potential starting lineup could consist of Irving (Australia), Eyenga (Congo), Casspi (Israel), Thompson (Canada), and Varejao (Brazil)...that's pretty cool IMO.

I also expect us to be AT LEAST in the top 5 for the 2012 draft, and what a tough choice we're gonna have to make with that pick...personally I'd take (in this order) Davis,Drummond, Barnes, Lamb,Beal. I am of the minority that would still draft Anthony Davis and try to move Tristan Thompson, because a chance to pair those 2 up would be insane...it would be like a slightly lesser version of CP3 and KG...that would be epic. He is far and away a better prospect than Drummond right now.

I expect the Cavs to be terrible once again. Maybe even worse than last year.

This Draft is really good this year and we will get a really good player since we will be top 5 at worse more than likely. Lets hope Sacramento can pull a rabbit out of their hat and give us that 1st round pick we got for JJ this year as this is the year to have another 1st round pick. Now we also have 2 second round picks and our 2nd rounder should be farily high and lets not trade it for 3 seconf round picks over 3 years down the road like we did last year. However, I understand the gamble if Howard leaves Orlando those 2nd Round picks are going to be very high. Go CAVS!! and I am excited to see how the new young kids do this year.

First and foremost, drafting Davis (that's IF he can even declare this yr) would not necessarily mean the Cavs move TT. TT is probably not going to ever be a starting caliber 4 on a good team anyway.

But anyway, I doubt you are in the minority. Frankly any Cavs fan who would pass on Davis and use TT as justification should stop watching basketball.

Also wanted to note that your "hopeful" starting lineup would probably be the worst offensive team in the league. Not that I care, because I want another much-needed top 3 pick, but just saying.

Yeah, I just thought it was cool that every player could be international in the starting lineup...I wasn't suggesting that they're gonna be some offensive juggernaut lol.

I look for the team to win 15 to 20 games this season, trade Antawn near the deadline hopefully for a future protected first, and for Byron to protect Kyrie early and hand him the reins after the halfway point. I hope Sacto makes the playoffs to give us two firsts as well.
I wonder how the amnesty clause will affect the league, but I dont expect the Cavs to use theirs, though I wouldnt mind letting Baron walk, even if it means Kyrie has no mentor. I could see the team either signing Parker again, or possibly picking up one of the lower level amnesty buyouts, though I think Parker is the more likely scenerio. Once again I would be willing to sacrifice wins for draft position this season, and I hope they feel that way too, so I wouldnt mind Skyenga starting from day one.

Here is a list of a few hopes:

1) TT plays well. The guys is getting a lot of hate
2) AV is traded for a 12-16 2012 1st
3) Sac makes the playoffs
4) Jamison is traded for a late 2012 1st
5) Irving stays healthy - plays as well as expected
6) Cavs get a top 6 pick

I think Cleveland will win about 20 games this season. I think Baron is still a Cavalier going into next season. I can see Jamison being traded before the deadline if a contender has incurred a significant injury or if they are looking for some scoring punch off the bench. I would love to see Manny Harris, Samuels, Casspi, and Eyenga to show that they can at least be rotation players.

I expect Cp3 to find a way to NY
I expect Howard to somehow land in LA
I expect the a holes in Miami to win their first
I expect more questionable calls in key playoff games
I expect more Obama appearances at Chicago playoff games this election year
I expect big markets to do well and small markets to pay for their efforts to screw the players somehow someway.

In other words new cbl but same old $hit

I hope we're as bad this year as everyone thinks we'll be.

Will be interesting with the amnesty provision. Sinse the players still get paid I really don't see us using it. Hopefully we can find Jamison a home for the second half of the season, he's a good guy, hope he gets the run he expected when he signed here.

20 wins would be fine with me. This season is all about draft preperation.

- looking forward to kyrie and tristan playing and growing as basketball players the most

- also looking forward to most of the roster being jettisoned either before, during or after the season

- the draft will be right around the corner

What I expect:

-Baron to be amnestied. He's served his purpose.
-Kyrie to shine.
-TT to struggle.
-Cavs awful. But fun to watch, unlike last year.
-Gilbert making another move to aquire an asset by taking on a horrible contract. Love you Dan.
-Cavs get top 5 pick

What I hope:

-Sac gets 8th seed
-AV and Boobie traded for assets.
-Nick Gilbert wins lotto again.
-Heat go winless.

I expect a top 5 pick.

I think Irving is going to disappoint unfortunately. As an ACC fan, I watched him a fair amount and he didn't impress. I think the faster, longer, taller game of the NBA is going to be very difficult for him. Maybe I'll be wrong but Bobby Hurley posted more impressive stats and look at his career even before the accident.

I really think Bobby Hurley would have been a very good NBA point guard if not for his unfortunate accident. I'm not a Duke fan or anything, but remember he was giving the pros fits at the olympic trials while a senior at Duke, and I believe he would have figured out how to be very effective in the league if he had a few seasons to do that.

Are you talking about Hurley or Irving? Either way you are confused.

If you are talking about Hurley he was arguably the third best player behind Grant Hill and Christian Laettner. And without argument he was not "by far" better than either of those players. He wasn't even the first PG taken in the 1993 draft - Anfernee Hardaway was.

If you are talking about Iriving well he only one year for Duke. He only played 11 games that year. Duke lost in the Sweet 16 that year.
