Alonzo Gee...

Has been pretty damn good for us so far this year. Who saw that coming? I honestly was expecting him to be one of the worst rotation players in the NBA.
How good can he be? He seems like he can be a 5th best starter (probably should be starting over Casspi, as he has been 10x better than him so far) or a good bench player for a legitimately good team.
Hes done a nice job of getting to the hoop and scoring, does a good job on the boards, and isn't getting killed on defense. I've been extremely happy with him.
What do you guys think so far? Is he a hidden gem? Whats his future with us?

He's been playing well, clearly better than Casspi. I haven't heard anything about him taking the starting spot. Anyone see if reporters have asked Scott about this, yet?
Gee's a great athlete, obviously, and he's a great finisher. I've been surprised by how well he's playing this season. He looks much more composed and fluid out there.
Ultimately, I think he's valuable in the role he is in right now, as a reserve wing. He could end up starting this year if Casspi keeps sucking, but big picture, I don't see him being more than a solid 7th/8th man kind of guy. Still, this is pretty promising return from a guy we got off the scrap heap.

Guys, he is average AT BEST.........we've watched so much bad basketball last season that it has made is delirious into believing Gee is anything besides an average reserve.

You're talking about last year's Gee, dude obviously improved in every aspect, and is working VERY hard.
The biggest issue now would to keep him working and highly motivated, as he is, being coached 1 on 1 with Byron Scott, and all of that, he's trying to stay in the league. But, we might see motivation issues later on.

Gee has been good enough to make me think if we only get one good draft pick this year go after Lamb and not Barnes because the two spot is a bigger need then the three. Really Gee has played that well.

Not sold on Barnes, Lamb goes in.
