Who Do You Want with the Lakers Pick/2nd Rounders

Post#1 » by Roger Murdock » Fri Apr 13, 2012 11:07 pm

The draft thread is pretty much all about the 4th pick right now, which makes sense. Who do you guys want later?

Some of my favorites are below. Come draft time I think Harless will go Lotto while a guy like Barnes might fall to our 2nd pick, but for now hes slated mid 20s. Moultrie is pretty optimistic for 25 or so as well. Lamb and White should be there.

You think that Harrison Barnes will fall to the mid 20s?

My list would consist of Fab Melo, Festus Ezeli, Doron Lamb, and Royce White in no particular order. I doubt Moultrie will slip that far.

Barnes will go lotto imo, and Moultrie wont be there at the Lakers pick either. If we get Beal with our first I would be looking to T Jones with tthe Lakers pick, though we would probably have to move up to get him. If we slide down some and end up with Barnes then I would be looking at Doron Lamb, Ezeli, or Melo at the Lakers spot.
My choice would be Lamb and address the C position (maybe Ezeli drops) and possibly a back up PG with the two seconds. I still need to do a little more reading on the projected rounders, and inevitably somebody projected to go in the first round will drop into the second round and that could change things up as well.

I'd want
sg/sf Terrance Ross
c Fab Melo
sf Moe Harkless
sg Doron Lamb
or c Festus Ezeli

I'd really like Ross to fall to us but I doubt he will. Otherwise, I'd try to get at least two of the other four. I hope we trade up using the Lakers pick and one of our second rounders to get somebody the front office really wants, failing that we gotta take the best player available, we just have too many holes right now.

Lakers Pick-Stashable Euro/SOuth American big guy. Not sure who is available, but I wouldn't mind getting a player that can show up in a few years at age 24 and ready to go.

2nd rounders-guys that possess at least one elite skill. We should be able to score a defensive big man/wing and a great outside shooter. Even if we just take whatever raw 7 footer is still left.

At 4 I would like any of the following:
Kidd-Gilchrist, Beal, Jeremy Lamb, or Drummond. I do not want Barnes, like I said before I see Marvin Williams all over again, a ton of potential and so so player. At 25 or 26 depending on where its at who knows it all depends what happens at 4, I could see a big going here as well like a Melo, or Ezeli, I do not think we grab a stash away player here that is what the 2nd round picks are for.
