Daugherty and Nance were the Cavs inside power during the 90s but one can't forget about the highly paid John Hot Rod Williams

Re: Hot Rod Williams
I remember him being a solid rotation player. Nothing fancy, but he wasn't embarrassing himself out there.

Re: Hot Rod Williams
He would have started for some of the teams in the league back then. I really liked Hot Rod as a player, but I was pissed when he nixed the trade with Seattle for McMillan and X-Man. that trade would have really helped the Cavs. We would have been a little short at the 4/5 off the bench, but McMillan played some solid D, and would have complemented Price nicely, as well as being able to guard Jordan some as well.
McDaniel would have been the missing piece at the 3 position, somebody who would have made Pippen work on D, and the thing I liked about him most was his nasty disposition on the court. That is what those teams were really missing, somebody with the attitude and balls to knock someone down when they got rough with Price, and X didnt back down from anybody, ever. Yeah he was getting a little old at that point but he still had game. Plus, he would have had Mr. Migraine Pippen's sacks shrinking at the thought of facing him in a 7 game series.

The x-man was a shadow of his when he played for the Knicks, having lost his explosive game. He **** his pants off with Pippen in the 1992 ECF. The NYK, wisely, let him go to the Celts where he never regained his role. In 1995 he was already in greece,

Re: Hot Rod Williams
But the one thing that Hot Rod will be remembered most for was his indictment for suspected point shaving at Tulane. He was said to have taken around 8 Grand for three games against Southern Miss, Memphis state and Va tech in the 84 - 85 (season not to lose, but for not winning by too much).
I met some alums from Tulane at a game at the old Coliseum what swore he did it. That night was hysterical . Those guys gave Hod Rod so much $hit he was laughing on the bench during the game.
. The only one pissed was Coach Wilkens. I loved it.
