What is the plan with 24th pick in this draft for Clevland if you guys keep it

Not really sure if even they have any idea yet. I'd hope it would be a best available at that point. You're likely targeting a quality bench guy 6-9 in the rotation with that spot.

At the top it looks like they want either Barnes or Beal. At 24 the options are either a complimentary wing (Barnes = DLamb, or Jenkins for instance) or a 3rd big like Festus or Fab.

what about Quincy Miller, I mean he has the potential to be a great steal, if he is available would you guys want to take him?

Not a Quincy Miller fan. I would like Harkless the most I think.

I think with Miller you would be gambling that he rebounds completely from his injury, if he doesnt regain most or all of his athletecism it is a wasted opportunity to improve your team. I like Harkless as well, or as stated Lamb, Jenkins, Melo or Ezeli. The team just has so many needs that there are plenty of players that can help.

I think it depends on what they do with the early pick. If they take a wing player they very well might look for a big man at 24

I would keep a close eye on Festus Ezeli out of Vanderbilt. He is not polished offensively, but he is much better than he is given credit for. Also, he is a solid free throw shooter, extremely athletic, and has shown improvement in college. I think 24 would be a very nice spot to grab him.

Actually, any of the Vanderbilt guys at that spot would be interesting. Jeff Taylor could fit. So could John Jenkins.

Take all three Vanderbelt guys. One at 24 and the others at 33, 34.
...if they were there I'd do it in a heartbeat. It would be fun to watch them all come off the bench together.

Cavs desperately need the best young talent possible so I'd roll the dice on Miller if he's there and the Cavs don't take Gilchrist or Barnes.

For bigs I like Moultre adn Nicholson. Not sure if either will be there tho.

#24 is a good opportunity to take a chance on someone. I feel every rebuilding team needs to take a chance somewhere, draft reach/FA overpay/trade for malcontent player, during the rebuild. If we draft Beal at #4, Miller appears to be a good compliment to both he and Irving. Miller's knee should be healthy, and I think a lack of confidence in that knee is going to be the biggest hurdle. Unless someone falls to #24, draft Miller, and then look to pickup the BPA at #33 and #34, of which at least one will hopefully be a big.

If Medical issues drop Sullinger to #24 would he be worth taking a chance on? Even if his career is only 5 or 6 years, I consider taking him.

depends on who is available. if they think he'll only play 5 or 6 years then no definitely not.

Trades like this don't happen much in the NBA. Most teams view 2d round picks as worthless so they don't go out of their way to stockpile them. The only way this happens is if Indiana doesn't see anybody worth a guaranteed salary at #26 and wants to just dump the pick. But even then, they would much rather sell the pick and get some cash then trade it for two guys that probably won't ever see an NBA game. So, if Indiana wants out of 26th, we could probably get it for $3 million and not have to give up any of our 2d rounders (which I would guarantee we value higher than Indiana does anyway).

Almost all of the picks after #20 are offered for sale in any given year. Although fans tend to fixate on potential steals and fantasize about the next Manu Ginobili, teams are more realistic and realize that very few of those guys work out. They really don't put much value in those picks and really don't want them. If the Cavs wanted to get out the checkbook, we could get 15 2d round picks if we wanted them.

That's not to say that you can't find value in a 2d round pick. Rather, I'm just explaining why teams don't look to trade down to get more picks like you see in the NFL. Those later picks are usually dogs so it just doesn't work that way in the NBA. The odds say to stand pat and not trade down.
