Stand Tall, Brothers and Sisters

Tonight, while many "fans" celebrate a store-bought championship, we celebrate our pride. Being a true Cavs fan, I get the opportunity to relish in an awkward mix of anger yielding to apathy while my Friday becomes a day that I play dodgeball with ESPN and the internet. It's a tough fight, but somebody has to do it. Why not us?

We, Cleveland fans, represent all that rivals the antagonist of the tale. Our faith runs deep, a beacon of light in the storm of a front-running society.

The draft approaches, as does a promising gleam of hope in a young man from Duke. I believe in patience, for it is patience that makes the rich richer and the fruits all the sweeter.

Stand tall a few more years, friends, and we can again ask "Why not us?" as we fight in our very own finals--one both earned and cherished.

CBNS--Cleveland basketball never stops.

I greatly appreciate what you are saying here and think its an awesome topic. Unfortunately at this time it is going to be too big of a target for trolls to come in and start fights on. After a day or two I promise I'll unlock this because it is thread worthy, just not worth the extra work tonight.

Also, allow this to be an open warning to anyone who thinks about trolling our board. The penalties are going to be harsh!

Thanks for unlocking this, B.

I'm just curious what a "store-bought" championship is? So any team that wins a championship with free agents or players they traded for are lesser than teams that build from the draft?

The Lakers "bought" Shaq - signed him away from the Magic. The Lakers "bought" Kobe - traded for him. The Celtics traded for KG and Ray Allen. The Pistons got Ben Wallace and Chancey Billups. I could go on and on.

Cleveland traded for the pick that got them Irving. Does that make him "store-bought"? The point I'm making is you shouldn't try to cheapen what others have accomplished because they are using the same methods as everyone else.

The Cavs have a bright future no doubt. I think they've got a real shot at the playoffs this year. I'd focus on that rather than trying to knock down others.

I truely admire your passion for your team. I can relate with the Miami Dolphins. I've been a season ticket holder and loyal fan since 1982 yet post Marino they have been soo dissapointing. Yet, I continue to go to games and hope that some year they'll figure it out. They have not won a super bowl in my lifetime and continue to head in the wrong direction. At least for you, the Cavs are heading in the right direction. I sincerely hope Ohio fans get a title in some sport... Any sport. In the mean time, at least you have the Buckeyes.
