Swap With Charlotte?

Bobcats send #2, Cavs send #4 and #24. Bobcats beat writer says he wouldn't be surprised if it happens.
You guys get your perimeter player, Bobcats get two picks. What do you guys think?

It sucks because if that were to happen, Wizards draft the guy they wanted all along (MKG), while paying less for him.
I know it looks like they want Beal though, but you never know.

I don't really like it, but if they think he's that much better than the others I guess it's okay.

Cavs need so much help they need to add to their 1st round draft picks , not trade them away.
Jeremy Lamb/Austin Rivers
Meyers Leonard
Perry Jones
Evan Fournier
Quincy Miller
These are the type of NBA players they should be targeting.

A Cavs insider on another board said he heard the same deal a few days ago...
If the Cavs truly believe Beal (or Robinson i guess, haha) is better than the other players available at #4, that deal is fine.

Both Charlotte and Cleveland Front Offices use a lot of stats to make their decisions and subscribe to the OKC model of rebuilding to some degree. If you look at ESPN's stats by Hollinger, TRob is #2 with his draft rater via statistics. For Charlotte it comes down to PF TRob (Quality) verses the quantity of marginal PF's they have on their roster right now. Beal is rated #11 by Hollinger's statistics.
IMO, If the Cavs trade up--- it will be to get MKG --- not Beal. Hollinger's draft stats have MKG at #3.
For the 2011 draft, Hollinger's draft stats rater had Tristen Thompson rated #4.
You need to have ESPN insider to access Hollinger's draft rater:
http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft201 ... raft-raterI still think the smoke is from Charlotte trying to get assets for moving down slightly which is what they should be doing before the draft.
Trade rumors abound but Cavs are undecidedThe problem is that according to NBA sources neither the Cavs, nor the Bobcats, nor the Washington Wizards in between at No. 3, have decided which player they want to draft, so moving up may not be necessary or prudent..
At this point, it's like musical chairs with those three teams and four players _ Kansas power forward Thomas Robinson, Kentucky forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Florida guard Bradley Beal and North Carolina forward Harrison Barnes. All of those players would help all of those teams, and each of those teams needs so much help that there's probably not a bad pick in the bunch.

If the Cavs want Gilchrist they can very likely get him at #4.

The 24th pick would be an incredibly small price to pay in order to land the second best player in the draft instead of the 4th best. I make that trade 100/100 times.

If your process and evaluations are thorough, and you have Beal graded ahead of MKG significantly, you make the trade. Players in contention for pick 24 will be there in the 30s. Let's not act like pick 24 is a sure fire homerun either. I think it's been a solid guy about 60% of the time.
I'd also be camped in front of Hibbert's house with a max offer sheet, though I understand that's an unpopular opinion.

I go after Brook Lopez. Younger with a nice offensive game that is the perfect compliment to Tristan. His injury history is the only reason we have a chance, and I believe in this risk as a small market team. It may not even require a max deal to keep NJ from matching, more like 11-13 million.
That said. We will not offer any free agent sizable money this offseason.

I dislike it more because I'm not a fan of Beal than I care about the value of #24.
If the Bobcats take Barnes though, I'll be very dissapointed we didn't make that deal when we're settling for MKG at #4.

Apparently Beal and Barnes had a workout in Cleveland and Beal handled him, offensively and defensively, even though Beal is considered much smaller. Barnes lateral quickness showed to be lacking and Beal was strong enough to handle Barnes physically.

Where did you hear this?
The early reports were that they both looked very good with a slight edge to Beal. What you're saying suggests something very different.
The "even though Beal is considered much smaller" comment is interesting. He isn't considered it, he is much smaller, lol. He also plays a different position and a SG is expected to have better handle and be quicker than a SF.
If what you're saying is true though, its certainly a red flag against Barnes because his lateral quickness has always graded out really well, and Beal isn't known to be lightning quick.

I think competitively you have to make these other teams use cap space to match. We could afford Hibbert for the near future, as we could take his hit(or Lopez, who I hate). But Indy would be losing a bunch of cap flexibility and would have to come to an agreement with George Hill as well.

Awesome now that CHA acquired Detroit's future pick it's time to trade that pick along with 2nd for Cleveland's 4th, 24th, 33rd, and 34th

trade checker 6106455 . Bobcats Fan here. How about Verajo and #4 for TT and #2. Tyrus was in Silas doghouse for 2 years, but you must agree in the right enviroment. He is still an athletic freak and young. A change of scenary maybe all TT needs Both have 3 years left on contract. You then could select Beal at 2 and Eleija a center moving up the boards at 24.
Think about it.

Of course you knew that was terrible. Verajao is the better player and Thomas has an awful contract. I would however do 24 AV for 2 and TT. Otherwise it doesn't make much sense. The Cavs would be giving up way too much

Yeah but that'd never happen either. Even if we gave up all of our secondary picks, AV, for 2nd, still no.
But, how about TT for TT and 2nd, now we're talking.
