Been alot of debate about this topic but now Jonas playing in the league. What are your perspectives now after seeing him play?

Even though this thread has the potential to be awesome, I would like to think it's way to early to tell. Tristan&Val will be a debate for years, even though there both good in there respective positions. Val is impressive and Tristan has been surprising me lately.

Still way too early to tell. The real season hasnt started yet.
I will leave this topic open. Any sort of trolling or antagonizing of some sort will result in a lock. No questions asked.

The Val hype well exceeds that of the Tristan hype. So I guess he'd be the pick.
How many of these threads have their been? And all opened by Toronto fans (I'm guessing here).
And I still think that Drummond will be the better player, that's where I believe our mistake may be.

Im with Outtie here. I was all about Drummond and I think quite a few teams will regret passing on him.
As for Tristan, he has had some stretches during pre-season that he has looked darn near unstoppable. He still has a lot of room to grow, but for the first time I can actually say Im excited for his future.

Oh sweet its last year.
I think on potential we probably made a mistake on passing on Val and Drummond. I mean we took risky picks anyway why not take ones with a huge upside and a future with a star at point guard and centre. Passing on Drummond looks likely to be the big mistake.

Toronto fans think that Val is going to be a star and yet I still think Drummond will be a significantly better player. Of course Drummond is from the US so they definitely prefer the European.

The Cavs could have had both though.
That would have been a formidable frontcourt, even if both only turned into 10ppg scorers.

That may be so, but what's done is done can't change the past. But if i had the choice i would rather have AD...

The past is the past, that is correct. Its upsetting to think about what could have been, but its exciting to think about what can be.
The future is still very bright.
-A very young core of Kyrie, Tristan, Dion &, Zeller.
-At least 4 draft picks in the upcoming draft and multiple 1st round picks in likely the next 3 drafts at least.
-A ton of cap space that will allow us to go after any Free Agent we want to.
-Covetable trade pieces in Varejao, and Walton & Boobie's contracts.

We'll see. I personally thought and still think Jonas was the better prospect at the time, but the pick that the Cavs really got wrong IMO was Waiters over Drummond. A few years ago everyone was talking about how awesome it would be if we were in position to draft either Irving or Drummond. We had the opportunity to Draft both and we said no!

Drummonds is a weird one though. There were alot of reluctant gms when it came to drafting him. Whered he go, 9th?

Yea and I didn't get that at all. I figured, even if Drummond never became a 20ppg scorer, he was still going to be a 12 RPG guy and a defensive beast. I really see him being somewhere in between Dwight Howard and a prime Ben Wallace when he hits his prime. We will see I guess.

I dunno, the guy averaged roughly 30 minutes of Division 1 college basketball as a 7 footer and got just over 7 boards a game...
DeAndre Jordan with a tad more potential... Which isn't bad...
I'm not a Tristan fan at all... His offensive game is nothing more than put-backs or transition plays... You cannot throw it to him on the block, he will not command a double team which makes his low post game useless... He has no little 15 foot elbow/baseline consistent jumper.... His defense is average, rebounding is average, shot blocking ability is average, is not a good low post passer and he's 6'9" on top of that...
Need way more out of that guy.... WAY MORE....

If this was last season I would agree with you on the offense part. Throughout preseason he killed of most of your problems you stated. He was making his jumpers in that Philly game but I guess that wouldn't matter. His shot blocking and his defense is not average lol
Also Drummond potential is not "deandre Jordan with a lil more potential" hahaha

this clearly breaks the "too soon" rule.

OP is, of course, a Raptors fan. If I tried a "Should the Raptors have drafted Lamb instead of Ross?" in either the GB or the Raptors board I'd get in trouble.

Should the Raptors have drafted Aldridge instead of Bargnani?
