So it says in the Wiretap that the Cavs are looking into trading for Aldridge. Would be good move imo. I bet Blazers fans aren't having any of that talk. Maybe we should offer Andy in the package, on the GB it seems that most if not all Blazer fans hate Andy there.

Blazers fans are throwing a fit on the T&T board.

That GB thread is just another Cleveland hate thread that no mod will touch. There's even one idiot in there that still thinks that the Cavs turned down Amare for Hickson, despite Gilbert and Steve Kerr saying otherwise.

Yeah the gb hates on the cavs a lot. Ah well.
As for the trade. I'd probably pass on waiters and TT for him. I know hes WAYY better than them but they are still young and will at least be very solid players. No need to rush the rebuild to much.

As with much of that Woj article, Im not sure this carries too much wait. Love for sure, but there will be lots of options available over the next 14 months.

Hello all, I'm a Blazer fan and I'm actually one of the few that wouldn't mind trading Aldridge. We don't have much cap space this year and a lot of holes to fill, while Aldridge is currently the best player on our team and an all-star, he seems more of a hinderance to our future success. If I were GM(there's probably a good reason I'm not), I would be happy with parting with Thompson and some picks. I wouldn't mind Waiters either, but there are good SG's that could be drafted with the 3rd pick. My question is what would you guys be willing to give up exactly? Is Thompson the 3rd, the 17th and next years first too much? Also, we have Freeland who is pretty much a worthless 3 million dollar contract for the next two years... would you guys take him in addition to Aldridge, or would that be too much cap space for your future plans?

either way I feel like the cavs win. you either keep your top prospects in waiters and TT and develop them more, or you get an established all star in LA.

If we end up in a situation where we draft McLemore.
Then good bye Waiters & TT.
Hello LMA and McLemore.

Hello LMA and McLemore.
Except that Waiters and TT aren't enough to get Aldridge
And don't waste your energy typing Varejao because he is always hurt.

I'm absolutely against this move if this results in Boobie coming back to play with his former college teammate.

Personally not much. I'm not interested in this deal at all. LMA is great but hes what 28? with 2 years left on his contract. Im not willing to sacrifice out young core fore that.

We would obviously throw in Luke Walton to even it out......

We can send more as long as you include wingman Unrealistic Expectations from your side. You guys seem pretty high on that.

I honestly don't want to give up our lottery pick for this year. I'll trade every other pick we have for the next 4 years, just not a Top 3 pick.

Yeah, I think if we could find a way to keep this years first I would be fine with trading for Aldridge. However,, I don't think the Blazers would go for that. Hopefully I am wrong. If they want to throw Freeland in they get less in return for the favor.
I don't mind Aldridge being 28 and 7 years in, I think with his length and the fact the he doesn't rely on superior athleticism to be the all-star that he is, he will be effective into his mid-thirties. The only reason this has even been discussed is that the Blazers are in exactly the worst situation, not good enough to contend, not bad enough to get high enough in the draft to get a franchise type player (unless they get really lucky) to go along with Aldridge. Mostly due to bad luck unfortunately for them, but outside of Lillard who do they have that is young enough and talented enough to get them over the hump?
Add to that the fact that they are capped out, and they are just on the treadmill. Of course TT would have to be included, and a slew of picks, but if we could keep Waiters and the first pick this year I would think the Cavs would have to jump at the chance to get a player of the caliber of Aldridge.

Oh I think the Blazers would do that deal in a heartbeat.

Every fan wants more for their guys than any stars been traded for in recent memory. TT + Waiters is more than ORL got for Howard, more than MIN got for KG etc.....

You guys took a a what if situation from an article that was made to bash us, and completely took it as "The Cavs are going trade for LaMarcus Aldrige" How many times does the Blazers gm has to say it, they are not trading Alridge at all. They feel Lillard and Alridge can take them places, so why would they trade him? A
Damn some of you are thirsty to the point you would offer you're life for an all-star that has no chance of being traded.

A little over the top, no? I guess we cant speculate around here anymore since you seem to know exactly what the deal is on this topic. Well, it was nice to have some discussion on this board for a change if you ask me. Oh, and I didn't see anybody say that "the Cavs are going to trade for LMA" like it was some sort of done deal. Maybe it is me that has the reading comprehension problem.

Blazer fan here.
Bill Simmons spouted the idea of a fake trade on twitter, #1 + TT for LMA. As a Blazer fan I'm seriously hesitant since the last big we drafted had knee problems and hardly ever played, but thats also the trade that makes the most sense if the Blazers do want to move Aldridge. Came here to see how CLE fans feel about it. Is the #1 pick of this years draft too much for Aldridge?
