I'm kind of torn on this if we end up drafting Noel.

I guess it becomes a massive trade chip, but this is going to be harder than drafting with 4th last year after Beal was gone.

Why not be happy? If they still, for instance, think Porter is the best player for the team then its now guarenteed that we can get him - unllike Beal last year (assuming he was their first option).

All the other guys, beyond the one we actually want, just creates additional trade leverage. Our front office has a track record of knowing what they're doing, so the more we give them to work with - I'm comfortable trusting - the more they'll get out of it.

I am very disappointed that we only have a month to sit and think about exactly who we want to select in the draft.

If we select Noel I would be disappointed. If gives us a ton of options and if say take Mclemore or Porter and trade up with our other picks to say 7 and grab Len - I would be very excited.

Noel would be a smart #1 pick for Cleveland. They have a solid young back court in Irving & Waiters. Varejo is always hurt and in a contract year. Need patience with Noel to have a full recovery.

I'm still trying to figure out why people think Noel is a center in this league... Even if Noel fills out and bulks up, he'll still give up 30-40 pounds to 70% of the centers in the league, in addition to giving up a few inches in height to half.

The best active comparisons i can think of are Serge Imbaka and Larry Sanders... The best comparison I can think of overall is Theo Ratliff. Quality players, but not difference makers.

Serge Ibaka would be the number 1 pick in this draft.

I wanted #2, Nerlens scares me because you sort of have to take him. As a gm if he works out you're a genius, if not you're an idiot. I wanted Otto porter at #2-3.

Noel at 206 lbs would be the lightest center ever drafted in any part of the draft. He needs to add at least 30 lbs, and on an already bad knee. I hate this draft.

Can we stop referring to Noel being 205lbs. as if that was his playing weight at UK? Plus he gives up a few inches of height to half the centers in the league, really? Tray harder.

Pick porter and stop whining. I'm happy with the number one this year as long as we dont aren't in the lottery for the next 7 years

I wish Noel was a little bit taller or a little bit wider, he just isn't. We're looking at the next Theo Ratliff, who, if he fills out will lose explosion and turn into the next Emeka Okafor. Neither of which have a ring.

The NBA is littered with over drafted big men: Kwame Brown, Darko Milic, Emeka Okafor, Hasheem Thabeet, Greg Oden...

Drafting Noel while McLemore and Porter are on the board is playing the same game.

I cannot believe you are hung up on a 19 year old big man who stands 7' tall with a 7'4" wingspan, who played 225lbs.+ when he was at Kentucky. Listing players such as Noah, Sanders, Garnett, and Chandler do not help your argument either.

McFly, can you give me a single reason why Noel will be better than Theo Ratliff or Emeka Okafor?

How did Chandler work out for the Bulls? Well the organization gave up on him at the age of 23, so does it really matter how it worked out for them? I can tell you how he worked out for New Orleans and Dallas, quite well. I mean, if you want to cherry pick players to support a weak argument, you might not want to pick a player who goes on to be selected as the defensive player of the year, and then anchor a championship team's defense.

The point is that he will always give up either height or weight. He will never be 7'0" and he will never be 270lbs. He isn't a NBA center..

Noel, like Davis last year, like Garnett and Camby before him, Noel is destined to start his career as a PF and be one for several years. Even Tyson Chandler started out at PF (and it took him 5 years to make the transition).

The plan is obviously to make the playoffs in 2013/14 with a young core to make Cleveland attractive to 2014 free agents so they can make a deep playoff run in 2014/15 and a championship run in 2015/16.

Noel doesn't help the Cavs next run, he'd be a cog for a future run. If this was 2011, I'd say draft him. With Irving, Waiters, Thompson, already in the fold and the finances aligned for 2014, you need someone with a shorter development curve this year.

Noel measured in at 6'11.75" in shoes, does he really need to grow a quarter of an inch to satisfy your center requirements?

Again, bad example, Chandler started off as a PF because Chicago draft a center ahead of him in the same draft.

You can't teach length and instincts, so to think Noel would not have any sort of impact immediately is very shortsighted.
