Who do the Cavs move up to take with their 2nd pick this yr?

Post#1 » by kiwibrindle » Fri May 24, 2013 12:26 pm

Since Potter is the logical pick, the more important debate is who we pick if we move up?

Dieng
Plumlee
Olynyk
Gobert
Adams
Withely

Anyone know how to create a poll? Please add one to this string.

Dieng had a nice tournement

I've been advocating Dieng at 19 for a long while. I suppose if they tkae Porter (or McLemore) then it would be reasonable to go in that direction. His stock seems to have risen so you might need to be in the early teens to know you'll get him. Gobert would be a fun and interesting pick too. If we didn't have picks to burn I'd say you could just sit back and select from what's left but might as well be aggressive and get your guy.

Both seconds for #13
#13, #19, Sac future 1st, and possibly take back a player for #7
Take Len at #7

Both seconds probably wouldnt get us up to #13. We were barely able to move up to nab Zeller last year with 2 seconds along with a first, and that was only a few spots.

I like the two foreign SF's. Karasev and the other one who's name I wont even attempt to butcher.

Not if we take Vince.

I think Len if on the board at 7 will be drafted. The highest we get with the 2 number 2s is 10

How come you guys are only talking about moving up with the two seconds? We have a late first too right?

They get added to the #19 pick to move up. Last year it took two high seconds to move up 7 spots from 24 to 17. This year, you'll get to 10 because 1) with 2014 on the horizon, Non-Guaranteed contracts are valuable, and 2) Dallas would love to part with #13 for them.

9 isn't all that much different than 7.

We would've done the same deal last year if Dallas was drafting 15th.

If Dallas would move #13 for both 2nds and cash I would think the Cavs do that in a heartbeat. Then a package of 13, 19 and a combination of the Sacto pick and future 2nds could get the team into position to take Len (who I really want) who they are reportedly high on. Porter and Len would be a best case from this draft imo.

the cavs definitely dont want to add a bunch of rookies, so maybe that greek kid, and leave him develop overseas. is sergey karasev gonna come over right away? either way, he'd be a nice fit. smart, good shooter, fits well with our other guys.

this is all based on the assumption that we take noel with the first pick.

Never use the words "good Jump shooter" and "Larry Hughes" in the same sentence please.

D-Express has Caldwell-Pope to us @19. If you could guarentee that I wouldn't even think of trading up.

LOL notice I just do not say Larry Hughes and preface the comparison with "like a smart, good jump shooting"

Don't get too high on KCP, he could very well be Marcus Thornton just 2 inches taller.

I like Hardaway JR better than him honestly. There's too much bust potential there for KCP, if we could trade that #19 and next years first(one of them, don't we have possibly 3?) for a player I take that and I'd like to pick up a role player in the 2nd.
