Now that the draft is over will it be a big FA or ?a Trade

I think Pek is the guy to go after as free agent if the price tag is not too high. Minny may not match with Dieng in the fold

Or in a trade I'd love to see the Clippers make a stupid trade and unload Blake Griffen to make room for Howard

I understand the probable need to overpay, but Iguodala truly would be a fit. I cautiously think I'm on board and yes I understand the salary ramifications of signing him.

Do we get involved in the Bynum nonsense? I'm not sure but I bet we will look into it.

If Bynum can stay healthy, which I realize is a big if, his signing could make or break the franchise. I would rather throw big money at Pekovic than gambling on Bynum's health.

OJ Mayo just opted out of his 4 mil.

Grab him and a center and things are looking pretty good.

There's no need to pay for anybody, FA class is weak, just give minutes to the young fellas and let it play out, you will have more data next season to decide.

Bennett would have to play the SF at least as a starter, he'll play minutes as a PF too.

Irving-Waiters-Bennett-Thompson-Varejao
Livingston-Ellington-Karasev-Miles-Gee-Felix-Walton-Speights-Zeller

re-sign Walton, Ellington, Speights, Livinsgston, work on the defensive side a lot, stablish the culture.

No hurry to get sweep in the PO.

Free agent moves to make: resign Wayne Ellington and try to get Livingston back on a one year deal.

We need some wing depth so badly. Would like to see a season of no injuries and no cj miles. Would be fun

I think we go after scraps off other big moves. Grant even suggested that was one option, as the big free agents fall - teams still need to clear space for Dwight (for instance).

I could see Kris Humphries off Boston's hands too.

Does anyone have the details of the Crabbe trade? I know it was 2x 2nd round picks, but what years?

Something is up. Cavs did not offer to speights, casspi (Thank the Lord), or Ellington.

Thanks 6 mill more for something. We are down to 28 mill with CJ miles qual offer.

I figure Livingston will get a bigger contract maybe in the 3 to 4 mill range is no one else overpays. But I have to wonder what the team has in mind:
* Iggy?
* Pek?
* Jefferson?
* Ellis?
* JR Smith?
* Mayo?
* Landry?
* Korver?
* Hansbourgh?
* Maxiell?
* Dunlevy?
* Jamison?
I'd say we could see two to three of these guys. Maybe a total of 15-20 million for two solid guys 20 - 25 depending on who and for how long. Something like u could see a couple one year deals for some senior benchers.

Earl Clark was linked to them a couple of weeks ago too. Might be legitimate interest there.
His numbers are pretty good, given the limited minutes, but it would be nice if we pursued some slightly bigger fish....not to mention he'd be another PF.

Would have to think Collison would be looking for a destination that would provide, at least the opportunity for, more minutes.

Which reminds me, one of the bigger challenges in signing these young an up and coming players in free agency is that they aren't going to have clear paths to starting here. We basically are log jammed with young guys.

More news.

@HammerNation19: Per Windy, a few players to watch for Cavs: Omer Asik, Pau Gasol, and Robin Lopez

Honestly I would not mind either of them, hopefully we can get Omer Asik from the Rockets. But what assetes would they want from us. According from old reports, no one on this team Is safe except for Kyrie Irving.

I found this on RealCavsFans, Source David Aldridge.

"Cleveland's general manager, Chris Grant, has made it clear since he took over in 2010 that he's not going to change his nature. He's going to always go for the home run, the high upside player, instead of playing it safe. And will either get him a ring someday or get him fired.

So it wasn't nearly as big a shock as some are making it out to be that the Cavs took Bennett. Grant took Tristan Thompson over the conventional wisdom that believed he had to take center Jonas Valanciunas in 2011. He went for Dion Waiters instead of the obvious pick, Harrison Barnes, in 2012. So it would stand to reason he'd go for the potential explosive talent Bennett possesses rather than play it safe.

If the Cavs can use some of their cap space to sign a significant free agent -- there were some rumblings late Sunday that they could be a player in the Josh Smith sweepstakes, for example -- they'd have a nice collection of players with which to build or to bundle in some fashion to try and get a superstar. The key in Cleveland is talent acquisition, not who plays where. You can always, always, trade talent."

Pretty much any center has to be on the Cavalier short list.

....maybe our new Russian can talk Kaun into coming over. :D

I got excited for Asik - but it makes sooooo much sense for Houston to trade him to ATL for Josh Smith

Not a fan of Asik's contract unless it is a deal including Thompson + Varejao and it's bringing picks and Asik back...

Totally can dig Robin Lopez, especially if we can grab Vasquez to backup the point...
